Recently bought a house with a pool in Napier New Zealand. Love aquacise. Have worked through most of your routines however absolutely love this cardio blast workout. Would love more of this length and intensity.

Is this a good workout for about 15 minutes of zone 2? I need to do some cardio twice a week and it's hard to tell in the water if you are in the right zone; on land, for me, zone 2 is starting at 120 bpm but I am not sure what the water heart rate is.

Zone 2 is usually on a scale of 1-5 (5 being the highest). It would equate to about a 3-4 on a 10 point RPE scale that we use when figuring how hard to work in the water. Heart rate is not a big predictor of how hard you are working, due to the properties of the water, so it is best to go by the RPE scale or zone. Interval workouts will take you thru various zones of more intensity to lesser intensity, which this does when we work then rest. This is a good workout for getting the 15 minutes you are looking for. Try gauging your intensity on "how hard you are working yourself" vs your heart rate in the future.

Hi Bev, thank you! Yes, I work with the senior population daily....they are my main focus. I have experience working with quite a few in their 90's, too. I currently have a 101 year old in my strength class. :-)

silly questions. If you are in the pool, how can you set up a tv to view the exercises?

Not a silly question at all. :-) Actually, a few different ways. I know some folks who have a TV outside and/or roll out their TV to follow along. Other people choose to use a tablet/laptop/phone to set by the pool to use. Just make sure you place it in a location that won't get splashed too much. I also have a routine on laminated cards(for sale) if you aren't sure where to start. If anyone else out there has suggestions, I'd love to hear them as well......

Hi! I use a waterproof ipod (Underwater Audio makes them). I convert the youtube to an mp3 (online converters are available and free) and then follow along on the ipod. What I love about Stacy's workouts is that she usually explains things clerly enough that I don't really need the visual, although I do watch it a time or two to get it down.
