And no, the financial argument of owning only one car does not stand when the car in discussion is 56k. Any real person who enjoys driving, having "only" 56k for a new car, would take a 35k type R(or a GR), get a 10-15k good family carrier from the second-hand market and with the remaining 5k would plan a 2 weeks tour through the Alps on some of the best driving roads the world has ever seen. At 56K GBP it's in a category with bigger, stronger and better competitors with a lot more badge appeal.
@ApothecaryTerry3 жыл бұрын
This is bigger than an A4/3/C and cheaper than the next sizes up (also just as fast as an S6, now that went diesel). M340i is better, although with options and running costs this is a more spacious and ultimately much cheaper car- although depreciation may screw that. This won't sell a lot, but it'll be rare and interesting which does appeal a lot to some of us. Since I have no kids or dogs I wouldn't buy one just yet but I'd look at this before any of those competitors to be honest. As a car guy, the idea of badge appeal is a little embarrassing- the number of times I've heard "yeah but it's a BMW" or similar...to justify a 114d over a 308 GTi or something ridiculous like that (if someone prefers the 114d they should be banned from driving). Sadly it is a massive thing for most people, especially in the UK. Stick an Audi badge on a dead pigeon and they'll pay £40k for it. Something about German cars gets ignorant Brits horny. We'll ignore that I drive a German car at this point...

Surely this would have been better if they ditched the front electric motor and swapped the 200ps 1.6 with the 270ps 1.6 itd bridge that gap a bit and would be a bit lighter
@lok6873 жыл бұрын
wel they had a 500hp drivetrain from the 308R concept. But the new emmision rules killed of the 1.6 with 270hp. They also use a 113 hp electric engine instead of a 200hp one like the concept
@AR-zr1om3 жыл бұрын
@@lok687 I remember that concept! Was sick, I’m not bad mouthing this car it looks epic I love hybrids and electric performance, would take a fast estate over an SUV any day I just think the weight to performance and price of this make it a hard sell when for the price you could buy a S4 avant, M340i or M340d at the same cost

@@AR-zr1om Oh, i dont mind if you would bad mouth it. I loved the concept of it but at this kind of power level/price its kind of in the middle of nowhere it loses to anything you would compare it to. Unless you are realy into the styling (wich i am) but i dont think that alone is worth the premium
