Turbo is quieter, better highway cruising efficiency, lower emissions, and more midrange. For example, compare the Nissan Kicks or Honda HRV to the Buick Envista or Hyundai Kona Limited. The latter feel way more effortless, while the naturally aspirated Nissan and Honda get REALLY loud trying to wring out the engine at high RPM all the time with no turbo to muffle and deepen the exhaust note, sounds tinny.
@alvinsimba7342 күн бұрын
@ you don’t need to be in high RPMs when driving. I have a Corolla with about 140hp and all my driving is 2000rpms both city and highway. The max I would have done will be 2500rpms when going on higher elevations. This is naturally aspirated and it’s quiet as well. It also depends how big the tires are, the bigger the tire, the more noise it gets.
@KeliK12 күн бұрын
@BoopSnoot Turbocharged and Supercharged engines do have their upsides. However, these are quickly overshadowed by unreliability because of excessive stress on the engine components. If you're in for extreme thrills that won't last and will bring you troubles in the long run, go turbo. If you're in for decent enough thrills that will last and will give you peace of mind, go NA. I personally believe that NA engines, while underpowered, have much more character and exhilarating sounds.

A year ago I bought a Mazda 3 after seeing it recommended by you and a few other reviewers, it's a nice small car to drive around, but it has many really weak points that should be highlighted before recommending it: - The base sound system is atrocious, even compared to other sound systems in its price range - The car has a very low ground clerance, which makes it prone to damage to drive around in a city like Montreal where there are lots of speed bumps and the road is barely maintained - Back trunk storage is not practical and small (like all Mazdas, they're just not practical compared to other vehicles their respective category) - Even young kids will notice that the space is very limited at the back So, driving on the highway and the info tainment with the dial are really nice, its reliable... but the rest is pretty weak in my opinion. So, I got rid of it and bought a Subaru.

One major drawback with solid-state batteries, is the swelling of the battery during charging and, ultimately the degradation of the cell after extensive recharging, lithium is a very toxic metal for the environment, not many countries want to mine it, 98% of lithium is not recycled and goes in to land dumps, the huge amount of lithium used to make just one lithium car is not sustainable for all cars, it takes 1000 gallons of water turned toxic just to mine or build one lithium car, this is just lithium and not including cobalt which is another of many other real toxic metals causing air pollution when mined (horrible) better solution, hydrogen fuel cell future, the way fuel cell catalysts and membranes , there anode and cathodes are becoming so efficient that one day a tank the size of a large coke bottle full of cheap green hydrogen will take your car 1000 miles, this is coming and new home solar cells that make hydrogen coming to market , they will run homes and cars at cheap cost effective prices, why because solar cells have become much more cost efficient in making green hydrogen and better storage in long run, getting bang for buck from solar cells than having battery storage or just plan electricity, fuel cells will always have 10 times more power than any other lithium battery or solide state battery, fuel cell are proven and solide state or lithium will loose in the end when it comes to raw power , fuel cells are becoming truly remarkable engines for all transportation ect, hydrogen fuel cell refueling tanks for cars are made with really strong carbon fiber 5 times stronger than steel, tested for super safe high impact, making it safer than combustion engines or for that matter a lithium cars, plus amazing secret about hydrogen fuel cell cars is that each car actually cleans the air as it runs due to it`s clean watered electrolysis when released onto the atmosphere, after all lithium EV batteries cars most are still connected to oil and coal grids any way you look at them!

I am surprised that you didn't mention the Toyota Camry.

If BYD was going to sell EVs in North America they would put Tesla and the others out of business.

Have you ever test drove Atlas? Try it. Its not always about reliability only. Premium feel matters for some consumers. Vw is good with reliability as well apart from Taos

Mazda CX-50 Hybrid?

It's a little hard to hear that 'The most affordable' car is an almost $38,000 (before taxes) Honda Civic Hybrid. I have heard from many reviewers that the car is an amazing vehicle, but 'Affordable' it is not. Honda makes great cars - Accord, CR-V Hybrid, Ridgeline, etc - but there are now charging for them, the value they represent. Not criminally, or without merit, but 'affordable'?? Not so much.

Great picks! I’m a Acura girl, how do you feel about the RDX OR MDX for next year ?

Save $20-30K and get a Passport. Same V6 as the MDX.

For me, the Toyota Camry because it is built in Georgetown Kentucky, or the Toyota Corolla Cross hybrid or Mazda CX-50 built in Alabama. To seat 7, a used Chrysler Pacifica minivan with a regular V6, preferably to just rent for long trips if you have a smaller family. The Ford Maverick for a small truck. The hybrid if you need less towing capacity. Ideally save money and buy them used with about 20 to 30 thousand miles.
