Carlisle Floods 06 12 15

Carlisle was subjected to horrendous rain and winds from Storm Desmond and has flooded despite recent flood defences. The devastation has spread over much of Cumbria with homes and businesses being lost and large areas being evacuated. Please be safe and our thoughts go out to the victims.

That's the best smooth footage I've seen yet of my home City being flooded (again!). The news never showed the full extent, and the Civic Centre/Hardwicke Circus area wasn't really shown - it was all focused on Warwick Road.

I'm just amazed at this, what happened to the millions spent on flood defences?? How let down do those who replied upon the council to protect their homes feel? At the end of the day there is always one person at which the buck will stop, that person should be made very public because sadly this won't be the last time we see this devastation.
