Carpro Hyrdo2 Review, how long does it last and is it worth the cost. It's a pretty expensive product and works pretty well. The big benefit is the easy of application and how quick you can apply it. The UV protection is huge benefit for me as I don't want the sun destroying my clear coat in the summer months.

Wow you were using a TON of product! Having used several different spray sealants, I would recommend starting on your roof, and working your way down the vehicle. Most of these products bond immediately, so when you blast it off, preferably with a stronger stream of water it will actually coat the sides of the vehicle a bit when doing so. I also prefer to spray the suggested amount first, and if you'd like to increase the water beading, apply another coating, using about half the amount of product for the most even coat
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 4 жыл бұрын
You know it buddy and I did use a lot, especially at the end when I just dumped the remainder on the hood, that was a lot LOL:) I learned on the truck when just the overspray worked to seal the paint. So you are right, we don't need much my friend!!!!

@@GarageKing Right on, it's good stuff for people that just want a quick and simple way to maintain some protection on their car. Not sure if you've heard of the Nanoskin super charger? It's not as effective as hydro2 at their suggested dilution ration, however a 16oz bottle of already diluted spray is like $6 in the US currently. May want to give it a shot if you're looking for a more cost effective alternative... I've been using it mainly just for rims, but ended up liking it so much i began using it on the rest of the car also. They also sell a concentrated version in a gallon size which is a 1:100 dilution ration, so you get an absolute lifetime of product for less than the 500 mil bottle of hydro2!

What the hell. $60 for half a litre. In the U.K. it's £17 for a litre (USD$22.73) for a full litre. £50/USD$66.85 for four litres. If you use a pressure washer and a snow foam lance/canon, check out CarPro Hydro2Foam. It's a foam lance/canon applied product. Foam it on, all over the car, leave for a minute or so and pressure rinse the vehicle.

@@GarageKing No worries. I've been using CarPro, Gyeon, Nanolex versions of this for a while (Gtechniq which I love has started doing their own version called EC0Easy Coat but it's not as cost effective as CarPro Hydro2Foam), Nonalex was the first with Washcoat back in 2008-9. CarPro followed with Hydro2Foam, then more recently Hydro2 and Hydro2Lite. Gyeon makes a similar product to Hydro2 called Gyeon Wetcoat. But Gyeon followed their shampoo 'Bathe' with 'Bathe+' shampoo which has some Si02 in to top up the protection each wash. Gyeon had a similar product to Hydro2Lite called Gyeon Wetcoat Essence (it was okay, just like Hydro2Lite) but it sort of faded away and I've not seen anyone stock it or if it's even made anymore. I still use CarPro Hydro2Foam almost fortnightly doing neighbours cars. As it gets right into everywhere and doesn't sneak which Hydro2 and Hydro2Lite can do from time to time. Take care mate, all the best for christmas and the new year. It's been an awful year for everyone so keep safe and well.

@@GarageKing i was having some issues with my work truck as i was using hydro2 and hydro2 foam on it. Was only getting one wash before it was starting too fail. I had done a decontamination wash and done iron remover tar remover etc. Still wasnt lasting. Hit it with the polisher and the polishing paste instantly turned yellow from all the oxidation. Since i went through all the effort too polish it i just laid down some cquartz lite and will.use hydro2 too maintain

@@Saddedude Excellent procedure to deal with that. Thanks for letting me know. I would have thought that after the iron remover the hydro2 would have worked well. Good to know. I just purchased some Carpro Fabric and I had the idea to do my shoes. I just bought a pair of Vans and I really like them. Well well..... I went out once and got a stain on the white laces. So I took the laces out, cleaned them with some Chemical guys cleaner, and then used the Carpro Fabric on the laces (dipped them) and then sprayed the shoes (they are drying now). I recorded it all as I'm going to do a vid on it. I want to protect me new shoes LOL :) I did buy some Cquartz ceramic coat, but have not used it yet. I'm hoping in the next couple weeks.

Question: if you JUST finished compound and polish.. you have to then wet the car again to put this on right after you finished that? Correct me if I'm wrong but I've read that you don't want to wet the car after you polish it?
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 3 жыл бұрын
Hey brother, you are right, but your question is a little complex..... After you polish they say not to WASH the car as you will wash the oils off that are contained in the polish. If you just wet the car you are not removing any of the oils contained in the polish (oil/water don't mix) So to just wet the car is ok, its no different that driving in the rain afterwards. With this stuff you can just mist the car, and then apply the product so the product does not go on dry. This product provides UV protection which is more important than the oils left in the polish. Now after a polish if you are waxing/using paint sealant right after your polish, that is your LSP (last step product) and you put that over your polish. This is just applied differently in that you have to mist the car. If you wash your car, then you will strip off the polish oils, but if you just wet the car the oils will stay. Thanks for the comment and have a great weekend :)
@XxLaMaravish13xX
@XxLaMaravish13xX 3 жыл бұрын
@@GarageKing you explained it so well! Thank you very understandable and now i understand! I misunderstood the process and thought I would take off the oils by wetting it. Awesome thank you so much. Are you parked across the sidewalk at 2:30? Come on man, don't be that guy in the neighbourhood.
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment brother, if you look at the video at 2:29, right before 2:30 and pause it and look at the front of the truck you will see two colours of concrete, that is the sidewalk as my driveway is a different colour, and the truck is clearly parked behind. In addition, at 2:55 you will see I'm clearly behind the sidewalk. At 2:30 you are looking at the camera angle shot from over the hood, and I'm on an inside bend (the sidewalk is not straight) so this is not an accurate representation of the trucks position to the sidewalk. When you watch the whole video look closely at 2:55, the vehicle never moved so I can say without a doubt I'm not that guy in the neighbourhood. I think you jumped to conclusions and made a false allegation. There are kids in my neighbourhood and I would never do that. Its ok and no offence taken, I can see how you may have thought that by the angle, but watch the video closely and you will see I did not park as you alleged. I do appreciate your comment, but I wanted to make it clear I don't park over the sidewalk.

@@GarageKing So long as its adequately rinsed off i dont think you can really use too much. Def can start too waste (expensive) product tho. @JJS432
@JJS432 3 жыл бұрын
First of all, you're using a terrible sprayer... You'll get better coverage with a finer wider mist. Plus you're using it excessively. You literally only need 2-3 sprays per panel. You'd save so much product. Less is more. In fact, I've switched to Hydro2 Lite (RTU). The bottle has lasted me 6 months (bi-weekly applications). If you consistently layer it after every wash its properties begin to bond better.
@GarageKing
@GarageKing 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great feedback. I did think my sprayer was a good one, as its much better than those really cheap ones that come with products you buy. I'll have to look for a better sprayer as I'm always trying to improve. I did realize that I was using quite a bit of product, and really overspray will work so you are right, you don't need much. At the end when I poured the rest of the bottle on the car, I knew exactly what I was doing there, was just being funny and using the reset that was mixed in the bottle. Thanks for sharing about the layering, I did not know that. Appreciate your comment brother !!!
