CarPro HydrO2 is a wipe-less, touchless spray sealant! It’s the easiest and fastest way to wax your car! CarPro HydrO2 is a revolutionary product that is formulated with special polymers that form an ultra water repellent coating and is applied simply by spraying on a wet surface and then rinsing off with water! YES! It’s that simple.

CarPro HydrO2 can be applied to all vehicle surfaces: paint, glass, plastic, convertible tops, wheels, calipers, and wheel wells. It instantly adds hydrophobicity to any surface. It’s a simple spray and rinse application that saves time, and results in a durable silica protective coating that produces a brilliant shine that lasts anywhere from 3 to 6 months. It also offers UV protection and it repells dirt and water from the surface, making cleaning the car much easier.
CarPro HydrO2 instantly revives the high gloss, deep shine, and smoothness to your paint, all while saving you time and money! This is truly a revolution in the car detailing world.
Directions are super simple:
Make sure the vehicle is clean and wet
Spray the product onto the wet surface then immediately rinse off with a pressure washer or hard stream of water
Do one panel at a time
Work in a garage or shaded area (never in the direct sunlight!)
It comes in a concentrated form (to be diluted 1 part HydrO2 to 6 or 7 parts water) or in a “ready to use” formula called HydrO2 Lite.
Gyeon Quartz also makes an excellent similar product called Wet Coat.

I have used this on my car before too. It works really well and also makes the windows appear to have been Rain-Xed. I used this on a car that had no coatings on it before or at least showed no signs of them. just spray on and rinse off. I like that it gets into all the crevices and now when I blow the car dry with a leaf blower that water that usually lingers in the crevices comes out easier. That is the water you notice when towel drying that just doesn't seem to go away. The rest of the car will be dry but get near one of those crevices and there is water suddenly.

This stuff is great. I applied this to my car 4 months ago and it is still beading like crazy. Car has seen 7500 miles since (daily driver!), is stored outside and has been blasted with a bunch of rain this summer. This really does seem like it can get that 6 month durability. I did a good wash with some dish soap to remove any old wax before applying, but did not clay or decontaminate. I hand wash ~ once a month, and I think that helps the durability as most touchless washes use strong chemicals that may degrade the sealant. I also had some very bad waterspots from some spinklers that were allowed to bake on for 10 days in 90+ degree heat, they would not wash or clay off, but were easily removed by Carpro Spotless. IMO, the sealant played a big part in not allowing the spots to etch into the clearcoat. The $60 500ml bottle should easily allow me to coat both of my cars 2-3 times a year for the next 5 years. This product gets a big thumbs up and must have from me if you enjoy washing your own car and would like to apply some great protection without spending hours (whole car is done in under 5 minutes). If you are a Pro this product makes a ton of sense in that it only costs a couple of dollars per application, is applied in a few minutes, lasts months and customers will notice how well it protects and beads water.

Since retirement two years ago and moving out to the country I found my car and truck covered in fine Iowa dust during harvest time. Since I'm the type if I'm going to do something I like to do it to the best of my ability. I found auto fetish on KZbin and began to take notes on his methods. Then your website came up while I was watching his video, and it seemed like you had the exact same interests and passions as I did. I started watching and couldn't stop. Now I've started over and taking notes. Thanks again Pan.

Love the channel! Best detailing videos on KZbin. Pan can you make a video on cutting, polishing vs waxing (are they the same?) basically explaining when to do each and exactly how you do it, what pads to use etc. Generally you usually show basic tips, but I want a super in depth tutorial please? Pan TheOrganizer I became enamored with foam cannons on instagram because I bought a new truck and didn't want swirl marks in my brand new black paint. Then started watching chemical guy tutorials, which were lacking, so I started searching KZbin and found your channel. While I'm on here, I still have my old truck. My carpets in that are severely soiled from drink spills etc. What carpet shampoo do you recommend? Lastly, I have to admit, I don't speak French but watched a few of the same videos in English and French to see if there were any differences. Thanks for the response!

I'm sorry but I must be missing something? I can't see any difference the between before and after, take for example at 2:58 the front door has been treated and the back door not, there is no difference in sheeting, beading or gloss... maybe I'm blind.
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 7 жыл бұрын
+Galavanta Look at the hood portion. Before HydrO2 the water pools, doesn't bead, and sheeting is slow, typical of unprotected paint. When HydrO2 is applied, it's easy to notice the instant beading and sheeting. The surface is now hydrophobic. For the gloss, don't forget the car had just been polished so the paint was almost perfect and very shiny to start. Hard to see the gloss difference on camera. I hope this answers your comment.

Can you use carpro reset for your weekly washes when applying this or is reset only for ceramic coatings?
@jeffreyman6044
@jeffreyman6044 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Pan, very nice of your reviews! I have a coupe of questions on this. Would you say HyrdO2 is an alternative product of Reload, it looks like they are very similar with the main difference between the two is Reload you need to apply with an applicator and HydrO2 you spray on and rinse off. Which one would last longer after rain and sun also would you recommend to use either one or both in between washes? I have used Reload (wet applied), it is amazing probably for the first week (rain + sun) and I just couldn't see much water beading after two weeks. Washed the car with Reset, couldn't see if the Reload still on, thought Carpro says it would last for 2-4 months? My car has CQ Finest. Thanks
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 7 жыл бұрын
Thanks Jeffrey! Upon talking with people over at CarPro, yes Reload and HydrO2 are similar in many ways, but you got it, HydrO2 is an easier and quicker application on a wet surface. I personally prefer Reload for longevity and boosting my ceramic coating's performance, but I always apply it on a dry surface. I find it lasts much longer as it's not diluted by the water from a wet surface. They suggest topping your CQuartz coating with Reload (or HydrO2) every 2 to 3 months, but I prefer doing it every 2-3 weeks as it's quick and just keeps the paint in top condition. :)

Just recently found your channel and I honestly could watch your vids all day long! Just wondering with this carpro hydro if I was to use this then there wouldn’t be a need to wax the car after I’ve used the clay bar? Sorry if I sound dumb lol, I’m just getting into all this detailing stuff
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Paul, thanks for the positive feedback, I'm glad that you're enjoying my videos. :) There are no dumb questions by the way. Everyone has to start some place and I like to educate my viewers, hence my I make the videos. There are normally 3 major forms of paint protection: waxes, sealants and ceramic coatings. You can mix waxes and sealants (you apply a base layer of paint sealant, than a top coat of carnauba wax). But don't mix those products with ceramic coatings. Ceramic coatings are often SiO2 based (silica) and HydrO2 is one such product. It doesn't play well with waxes or sealants. So when you're done prepping the paint (washing, iron remover, clay bar, polish if needed, IPA wipe) you can then apply HydrO2 and there's nothing else to do for 2-3 months. After 2-3 months, just apply another coat. I hope that answers your question.

Hi Pan! Love your channel and your content as usual!! I wanted to ask you for the best hydrophobic spray you recommend for cars without a ceramic coating. I currently have the Carpro hydro2 lite in my cart but also saw you had recommended p&s bead maker and also hydrosilex. What are your thoughts?
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 5 жыл бұрын
HI Jonee. It depends on what you're looking for. If you have no protection on your paint, then you're open to anything. For long durability (3-4 months) and hydrophobic properties, SiO2 based spray-on sealants are the best (CarPro HydrO2, Gyeon Wet Coat, etc). But you can't spray these on top of waxes or sealants. You use these as a stand alone product, or use them on top of ceramic coatings. But for ultimate gloss and slickness, P&S Bead Maker is my current champion. You can apply this on top of waxes, sealants or coatings, or use it as a stand alone product. Sonax Spray n Seal is another good one. Both offer 1-2 months real world protection.

Hi Pan, This almost looks too good to be true. Is this as effective as a standard sealant application? Is the coat equally "thick"? It looks like you only sprayed it on the paint. Can it be applied to the entire car? (Excluding tires) Thanks for all your awesome, informative videos!
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Seth! Keep in mind this is a quick way to add gloss and protect your paint for 2-3 months. Paint sealants last longer but are way longer to apply. HydrO2 is also super economical. Only one or two sprays per panel is all you need. Spray on, immediately rinse off. You can apply it to all exterior surfaces except glass.

Secondly, if you use hard water in the sunlight won't this leave a ton of water spots? So basically you can't just spray it off and done, you must wipe to avoid water spotting. Hi Pan, I just used this product on my wheels, my question is: does iron remover take it off or damage the product? And also, how often do you apply this? I’ve done a through cleaning of my car already and have protected it well, I wonder if I need to keep applying per time. Thanks!

It can resist iron removers. It’s hard to tell durability on wheels, but you know it’s time to reapply when the water doesn’t bead as much.

Since watching this video, I have clayed, decontaminated and cleansed my paint and applied HydrO2. I am very happy with the results and will just top up every month or two after a wash. My question is, if I decide later to upgrade to a ceramic coat, how do I remove the HydrO2 layer? Will Eraser manage this like it does for wax?

Hey Pan, Thanks for all your great videos & DIY, I have recently fully corrected the paint on my car thanks to you. To protect the finish & enhance gloss, I have applied Meguiar's Utimate liquid wax at the final stage, and I was looking for a quick way to boost/maintain the protection between wax application. Would you recommend Hydro2 as a topper over a wax like Meguiar's Ultimate liquid wax ? Thanks for your wise advice, and keep up the good work. :) Cheers

can you wax your car ontop of ceramic coatings/spray sealants to get that insane showcar shine? And when your ceramic coating is starting to wear off do you just redo every step from the least aggresive way of compund/polish then redo everything as the first time?

+Marie Nygård You don't add waxes or sealants on top of ceramic coatings. I suggest you watch my latest video on how to do a proper maintenance wash on coated cars, everything is well explained. You apply a silica spray sealant on top of ceramic coatings. Boosts gloss and protects the coating. Also, by design, coatings are already super glossy.

Hi Felipe. 1) Yes. But don't combine both. If you use HydrO2, silica based product, you can't apply wax on top. 2) You can use any pH neutral car soap you want, as long as there's no wax in it. 3) Any pressure washer that generates 1000 to 2000 psi is perfect for washing cars. Question: if you JUST finished compound and polish.. you have to then wet the car again to put this on right after you finished that? Correct me if I'm wrong but I've read that you don't want to wet the car after you polish it?
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 3 жыл бұрын
When you’re done machine polishing, you buff off the polish. The paint is dry at that point. You would then use a paint prep or IPA to wipe down any polishing oils and residue, before applying your choice of paint protection: wax, sealant or ceramic coating. Now this HydrO2 product is a mild ceramic. 3 months real world durability. So yes you would wet the car, spray on, rinse off. Dry the car.

HydrO2 isn’t meant to be a super long term protection. It will lasts 1-3 months on average. It’s more used as a topper over an existing ceramic coating and it’s super quick/easy to apply, as it’s spray on, rinse off. If you are looking to machine polish your paint, I’d look into applying a long term protection afterwards, like a true ceramic coating from a glass bottle.
@bmwmsport11
@bmwmsport11 6 жыл бұрын
So what is better: tight beading or water sheeting off? Seems like there’s a lot of surface tension using hydro2. Very tight beads all over but water isn’t sheeting off. A good fresh layer of wax will usually leave vertical surfaces dry after spraying. If this stuff can truly last 3-6 months then it’s probably worth the money
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 6 жыл бұрын
3 months in harsher weather like the winter we had here in Canada. I still prefer true ceramic coatings. HydrO2 is more aimed at someone who wants a quick way to get a bit of protection...

Pan TheOrganizer I’m in NY so the winters aren’t that much different lol. I figure nothing will last a season. Right now I’m entertaining the idea of ceramic coating my parents cars. Ran into hydro2 and figured it’s cheaper and I can do all of them for the price of 1 ceramic coat kit. I just feel alittle skeptical about the protection. From a simple spray on chemical it seems like all it’s doing is making the surface bead, not really protecting the paint from UV rays
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 6 жыл бұрын
If you want the ultimate paint protection and UV protection, then yes go with a ceramic coating. I have two coats of CQuartz UK Edition and a top coat of Gliss on my BMW and it’s still going strong a year after.

Hi Pan, Thanks for the great videos and reviews.. In this video there are some kind of protection on your paint before you spray HydrO2 on and activate it. Please look carefully on the video on the before and notice how there is a sheeting effekt and minor beading effect also. You said in the begining of the video, that you had washed, decon, clayed and polished the car. Are you sure there are not any of the products which you used for polishing there has protection in it? Did you use IPA or similiar after finishing the polish? I can see there is a big different to the beading and sheeting after the applied HydrO2 and I agree its a great product.
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 7 жыл бұрын
Hi Christopher, Yes the paint was fully stripped of any prior coating. The car was chemically and physically decontaminated, then compound and polish, followed by a proper IPA wipe to remove polishing oils and residual products. The car had not been detailed in over a year. Of course, as you spray body panels with HydrO2 and pressure wash, there is product that falls on other panels, hence why you see some minor beading. It was probably from other panels that I was spraying. But you can see on the hood and the trunk lid that the water makes a big pool of slowly sheeting (before HydrO2) and when I apply HydrO2 you see major beading and sheeting is much quicker... So what you are refering to is probably cross-contamination of HydrO2 that was flying on other panels during pressure washing. This product is really powerful. I hope this answers your comment.

+Philip Chang You can use Wet Coat or HydrO2 over waxes or sealants, but I'm not sure how well they'd bond to the surface. HydrO2 was meant to be used as stand-alone nano coating or to top off ceramic coatings. How did you discover my channel?

Hi Pan , another great informative video. I’m going to be compounding/polishing one of our vehicles that has not been sealed in a long time. After coating with HydrO2 , is it best to use CarPro RESET to wash? I’d like to keep all the products from the same manufacturer. Also , would the CarPro Elixir OR the DIY Spray Detailer as per your video good for in between washings and quick detail? Thank you, Howard

Hi Pan, I enjoy the ceramic coating videos as they are teaching me things I didn’t know much information about. At the moment I’m considering different options for my cars. I really like the concept of the Angelwax Enigma Ceramic Wax because of the ease of application. Just to confirm, the Car Pro Elixir can be used with the Angelwax if the Enigma QED Quick Detailer is not available. Thanks again Pan. Your videos and knowledge are top notch, thank you, Howard

Pan you are killing me! You are going to make me buy one of those pressure washers, does it plug into a standard 110v outlet? Thanks for your second to none videos, how else do I support your channel other than thumbs up?

Hehe yeah we go nuts for detailing! Yes the Karcher K5 I had in that video plugs into a standard wall outlet. Great value. I actually reviewed it in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rJDZk6iLpMydmpY Since, I’ve upgraded to the best electric pressure washer, a Kranzle 1122TST. Pan does it protected from acid rain, bird droppings etc what product would you use to maintain it
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 7 жыл бұрын
Hi John. It protects a bit more than traditional waxes or sealants, but like anything, if you leave those contaminants long enough on the paint, it will etch through. There is no magic coating that is bulletproof. This is like a supercharged. version of a wax or sealant.

Hi mate! Does this work well as a windscreen sealant or would you recommend still applying a windscreen sealant?
@PanTheOrganizer
@PanTheOrganizer 6 жыл бұрын
Hi Luke! I don't recommend using this on glass. You'd be better off with a true glass sealant like Aquapel, AngelWax H2GO, Optimum Glass Coat, etc.

I haven't used this CarPro spray, but I have used Gyeon Wet Coat. I wasn''t happy with it at all. That stuff doesn't last 2 weeks, that's how quickly it washes off. Hopefully this one is better.

Hi Pan, I'm an avid user of Carpro ECh2o as a quick detailer (for light dust and fingerprints) in-between my once-a-week washes. Pre-washing is done out of the sun (at dusk) using a garden hose foam sprayer with ph neutral non-wax shampoo, 2-bucket wash with Carpro Reset, leaf blower drying, then wiped dry with Rag Company Liquid8r. I also have Cquartz UK 3.0 as a coating that's about a year old in a NEVER-garaged daily driver. I'm very meticulous about my car, especially since its dark-blue in color and always outside. My question is = if I apply Hydro2 after my weekly wash but I still use the Ech2o quick detailer during the week, will wiping down the surface with Ech2o actually REMOVE the Hydro2? Aloha!

Once you're done rinsing the car, you dry as you normally would.
What's better? Wax, sealant or ceramic coating?
