In addition to wash your hands with dish soap, before starting to work I rub in dish soap on my hands. After 15 seconds it becomes dry and it avoids oil, grease etc penetrating that deep i to the skin. Works well for me.

juergen scholl Letting dish soap dry on your skin is sooooo incredibly harsh & leaves skin dry & cracked.

I have a friend whose been mechanic all his life. That guys hands has so much engrained oil in his hands and he cannot remove it. His skin is split at the finger tips. He uses dish soaps to clean his hands sugar also. Aswell as trying professional cleaners. Nothing I see online suggests how to help him and his level of need.

Nice method. I have always used Mean Green hand scrub you buy on amazon, I got hooked on it because it knocks poison ivy out like you wouldn’t believe. Also it seems very chemical free and smells like fresh squeezed limeade.

I second this. I just wash my hands normally with a good dishsoap, and if they're really bad I'll use an old washcloth.

My farther was always using just a clean motor oil. Oil will dissolve all black car-dirt, which mostly oily, and after you just clean hands with soft paper and after wash out rest of almost clean oil with all you want - dish soap or normal one.. Dish soap is actually quite aggressive, so I try to avoid it. Never tried, but olive oil should work in same way and will even care of skin.

But you don't realise that your bacterial protection layer of the skin is getting scrub and no more protection. There are many good product that has dermothologicaly tested for skin protection.

But you don't realize a basic dermatological fact - when you get hazardous oils on your skin they go right through it - so scrub off the layer and let it rebuild in a clean fashion
@doncosmic6946

carquestions : From a medical practitioners view, more you scrub the skin more it damages the inner layers and letting more rooms to penetrate hazardous substances in which end results would be somewhere closer to bone cancer. Therefore rubbing off the protective layer is not very advisable thing to do though it regrows.

I'm so sensitive that even trace amounts gives me little hives, which always seems to make contact even with gloves. I also sweat profusely with gloves and that makes it worse.
