Thank you Tim for helping me vent many tears whenever I listen to, "Carry You," & for writing & singing this song that's grown to mean so much to me. It brought back so many memories of my brother who sadly passed away unexpectedly 8 years ago at the age of 30; and I was sat in the auditorium, tears pouring down my face. Such a beautiful song, and so universal; everyone has lost someone, and this song perfectly summarises the weight of grief; the person is gone, but not your memory of them - In some way, those people are immortal; because they continue living in your mind, along with all your emotions. I miss my brother sometimes, but I know he is here within me.

White Wine in The Sun is our favorite Christmas song in my household. My kids are 15 and 16 and I introduced them to Tim Minchin when they were very little. But my all time favorite performance is the one where he plays Hallelujah in the pub and one guy who I believed worked there just happened to record the performance with his phone. Since then Tim Minchin has covered Hallelujah many times but none captured the raw emotion of the song from that pub night imo. I can't remember the woman's name he sang with and they had the lyrics written on napkins and everyone in the small pub had obviously been having a great evening.

Then later on, just before Xmas, my dear dear rabbit, one of a pair of adopted brothers, became so ill without explanation my vet and I didn’t even need to say the dreaded words when I brought him in for the 4th time in a week. My vet sedated him and left me alone. I sang this song to Diego. A few moments later the infamous ‘green dream’ of vet medicine was injected into a vein in his. ear. Without a twitch, his heart stopped. May all of us with chronic incurable illnesses be afforded the same dignity and love surrounding us when we’ve had enough. I’m severely incurably ill myself. Singing this song to my Diego as he took his last, peaceful breathes makes me even more determined that this one day be how we treat humans like me. That we can die, when we are done, with a medicine that affords us certainty and as little suffering as possible, surrounded by whoever we hold most dear- my mum and my animals I see as children. With this song playing for all of us . Thank you Tim xx

His expression when he plays those final notes is something I can only Describe as being in a Memory of something that made him Cry Sorrowfully but now has no more left that can fall because Life, His Life, has HAD TO Carry On. Or I could be completely Wrong.

Tim you gotta post more often. If you go cold you won't get sold. You'll be put in the back in the discount rack, like another can of beans.

I don't know what's more jarring, the fact that he's not doing funny songs anymore, or the fact that these romantic songs are so good.

Wow... Tim? You okay buddy? I can see that you felt every word of that. You have some pain behind those eyes you gave there. I saw some memories in them. I know its a cover, id have trouble singing it myself without choking up. But look, you always have people who you've never met to talk to. We feel you too man. You're never alone. You show how you truly feel when you're focussed Tim. You can't hide your emotions when you're trying to express them through song. Its written all over your face. As a fellow pianist I can understand that very well. Sometimes i just randomly start crying when im playing and I have no idea why.. Its not like theres a reason i can define. Its just like the floodgates open and how i truly feel spills out through my mind and my hands... Which isn't a very common quality among musicians these days. Noone is nearly as emotionally invested in what they do and what they are as they used to be in past ages. Everything is so shallow these days its hard to find deeper meaning in practice vs what others expect of you. Youre doin great man. Ive been a fan since i was very young. I always wanted to be a renowned pianist ever since i was a toddler. Ive been practicing every day and writing every day my entire life. I'm not sure if fame is in the cards for me. But that doesnt matter to me anymore because i found something much much deeper imbedded in the flow and eb of these melodies i hear in my head and put to sound... I found love, true love. And i found the spirit of mankind floating somewhere in the frequencies, singing all their dreams, their pains, their regrets, their wishes and their devotion. Ive even heard the voices of the dead speak through the matrixing of Whitehouse generated by clashing interference patterns. And they have beautiful things to say. Keep listening. Listen to what you write and hear the words that are already there. Its almost like an entirely other dimension of thought and emotions, music is, stored and recorded in transient sounds and vibrations that play across time and space. It truly is a state of transcendence.

It's not a cover. Tim wrote the song & recorded it for Upright & his album Apart Together. Then they had Missy Higgins cover it for the ending of Upright.
