@@razztasticNice stereotyping and labeling. That type of behavior and mentality *totally* doesn’t contribute to society’s ills or anything. “Stars and bars” people are a) still people, and b) drawn to whatever one happens to be drawn to. Quit painting entire segments of society in broad strokes just because it suits your political obsessions. Bet you don’t like it when you and whoever’s trendy to support get treated that way, so don’t do it to others just because you think you’re “good”. It’s all perspective, jagoff. Many of history’s biggest oppressors and tyrants were convinced they were the good guys, too. A certain infamous Austrian painter, soldier, chancellor, dictator, and warmonger whose name has been reduced to a meaningless hateful buzzword comes to mind in particular. And no, I’m not about that Confederate flag shit. (While I don’t support canceling it or really anything else-because hiding things and censoring history only prevents people from using that knowledge to prevent repetition of mistakes-the flag does make me feel a little…ick.) Only Old Glory, Stars and Stripes for me. A particularly unhinged sympathizer for the Democrat-backed Confederacy (John Wilkes Booth) murdered one of my heroes (Abraham Lincoln) just because he blamed him for all his petty woes and because the man dared to free the slaves. Fuck the confederacy, fuck the Democratic party-which STILL keeps people in chains and whips them into compliance-and fuck every self-righteous asshole who has the audacity to think they’re something new and special while continuing to help those vampires keep us divided. (Not just the Democrats, but RINOs too. My allegiance is to the republic itself, not *just* the party named for it. I ultimately share George Washington’s belief that the party system was a very bad idea. And he has no idea how right he was.) The way you phrased your comment tells me quite a lot about your mentality, so you better believe I’m referring to you, too. (And no, I don’t necessarily see myself as “the good guy” or anything so idealistic. I’m simply me, for better or worse. I’m not arrogant enough to parade about like some grand exalted savior. I will point my sword at anyone I deem unjust and guilty of contributing to this societal dumpster fire of fear, hate, division, idealism, and extremism.)

I won’t have the exceptionalism crap. Nobody’s a hero just for subscribing to this or that viewpoint. If I’m the bad guy for that, so be it. Cars is such a phenomenal movie! Beautiful animation, great behind the scenes and Easter eggs, hilarious jokes and a lot of adult ones, the best character arc, and such an emotional movie too. Like one of my favorite moments and emotional moments is when doc talks about how he went back after almost dying and they told him IT’S OVER. YOU’RE HISTORY. “There was a lot left in me, I never got the chance to show them.” The Hudson Hornet wasn’t only a real brand of cars, but “The FABULOUS HUDSON HORNET” is really based on two real hornets that shared the name. Back then Hudson Hornets were dirt track racers. My favorite part about this film and Pixar in general is when they do so much research. The creator and director of Cars is personally obsessed with actual cars and racing. All the cars are based on real racing cars, it was the first Pixar film to use ray tracing to make light reflect, they recorded the actual cars they’re based off, they got real racing legends to voice characters, and he took the whole animation and sound crew to Route 66 to experience how it’s like. Watch the behind the scenes.

Here's my theory to McQueen stopping before the finish line. Normally at first glance, anyone would say he could've helped King Dinoco after he'd himself finish the race first. But apart from the Doc Hudson flashback, I think the real reason they did that is because after a driver finishes the race, he wouldn't be allowed to go back and even if it was allowed it still wouldn't legally count.

It seriously bugs me how this film is considered to be the black sheep of Pixar’s golden age. It has a creative and accurate depiction of racing culture, a tribute to US Route 66 and small towns that got bypassed, masterful storytelling that culminates in gradual character arcs that take full advantage of its runtime, which is accomplished through dynamics with other characters in this film, Randy Newman’s phenomenal score, a great song selection, a perfect voice cast, solid humour, groundbreaking visuals, and most importantly, passion and dedication put into this film by its filmmakers. But no, people would rather fixate on how the Cars universe doesn’t make any sense and not even address the story or characters because according to critics and KZbinrs like Schaffrillas Productions, JelloApocalypse or Mr. Enter, it’s “Pixar’s first bad film”.

I’d probably say the same for various kinds of bees, too, but I have a major phobia of all “winged stingers” and tend to avoid being around them as much as possible.) Morons.😑 I’m with ya, 100%. This movie, along with Disney's Tarzan were one of those movies where I would be able to sit in front of the TV and watch this movie on repeat aaaall day and still want more (I had a CD of few classic movies and Cars along with Tarzan, both Toy Story movies and the Robots movie). Hell, the best memory I got when I moved to Poland was me being 8 years old, sitting on the floor with my cousins in a basically empty living room, freshly painted, couches moved in and the big, ol chunky TV, watching Cars on it while munching on pizza with my 6 cousins.

Thank you for reacting to my favorite movie of all time. I seen a million times as well. In 2007, my dad and i were at Walmart and i saw this in a dvd section, asked him to buy it for me, he did, and we went home to watch. It's been my favorite ever since. I became a Nascar fan thanks to this movie 3 years later.

12:15 so that means in this world you can get in trouble for walking too fast, since the cars are supposed to be people

39:53 he didn’t cross, because if he crossed he would be 1st chick would be 2st and the king would be 3rd so that wouldn’t be a good image for his last race so lightning gave him the 2th place

As a kid, i really dont know why highway matter to people...but when i grow up, i realize that using regular, long road is actually more fun then take a highway. At least there severel place to "pit stop" and the way how everyplace keep changing, make your eye enjoy the view. Highway make going to one place faster but at same time, it feel boring that it easy to fall a sleep and scary at the same time becuase how fast the car are going....

The first Cars movie has so much charm. The second one is a massive decline, but the third one is pretty good again. Also, just a minor note: Porsche is actually pronounced "POR-shuh", as it's named after the company's founder, Ferdinand Porsche.

This is such a nostalgic film! I saw it in the theater when I was 11 and it still has a soft spot in my heart. But also, man the adult jokes in this flew over my head. The flashing joke, Piston Cup joke, the Tramp Stamp joke, and a few others *completely* went over my head as a kid, but it’s all the more hilarious as an adult 17 years later.

I owned this movie on DVD growing up and I loved it, I am more of a trains person than a cars person but I have to say I am interested in older cars and this film influenced me. I am happy you reacted to this, bringing me down memory lane.

the first one i know of adult jokes is when the twins flash their headlights at mcqueen (a reference to women flashing their girls / breasts at their fav people) something like that
