Oncea man wanted for murder in another city walked though my back yard. When I called authorities they didn't want to hear it

1:49:37 That doesn't mean anything if the information wasn't really available until years after the guys death. Plus, Hazel readily changed the day when her memory didn't fit the timeline. Her original story already sounded like she imagined it would have been the missing women after learning they were missing. If she was right then Julies kids are wrong about her habit to go fishing in the middle of the night. I'm fairly certain the older ones would remember their mother only being home in time to send them off to school regularly. The only reason it even slightly fits in is the gun. And only because no one knows who she bought it for. But if they had been there after a night of fishing, how did they end up where they did? If Vicki normally wore glasses, why would she leave them behind? People noticing that she left them behind means she usually wore them or kept them close. They're not dressed for the weather but that wasn't what Hazel noticed. Not a word that they were severely underdressed. If they had been fishing all night in those clothes they'd be frozen by the time they entered the shop. She noticed none of that. Just that the guy her husband knew was less friendly and didn't want to wait. I don't think Hazel saw Vicki and Julie and she only thought it must be them after learning they went missing that day and after learning who the guy was from her husband. I don't think she's lying but memory can be weird. And it sounds like she's the only one bringing that guy into the mix. I think Alan was involved. He is the only one with a reasonably clear motive. At least for his wife. If you can answer the why's and who's surrounding Vickis actions you could probably solve the case. But wether or not she helped kill Julie, I don't believe she killed herself. Everything about the situation in the car points to at least a third person.

A Bodum of coffee, thats a realy nice expression. Never heard it before. It is strange because we Swedes drink, per capita, most caffee in the world and Bodum being made in Denmark and all. I will start to use that in some way. I just feel so sad for Vicky, that she had to endure all she has from the abuse of that predator, the loss of her sister and a woman she considered an aunt who was quickly blamed for the murder. God, it's so upsetting knowing that we'll never know for sure what happened and the families won't get proper closure and/or justice because of police incompetence and administration, and Alan casting this long shadow over everyone that people felt scared or too intimidated to come forward with what they did know. It's awful what happened to them regardless, and awful what Alan did to both Vanessa and Margaret.

A good and sensitive discussion of a grim incident. It wasn't clear, though, how the gun-for-hire could have lured the two women out of the house at night in unsuitable clothing, or how they ended up trying to buy pastries at 7.45 the next morning, apparently not being under threat from him at that time. Where had they been with him for the ten or so hours since they left the house? Also, the brutality of the attack against Julie would suggest that she was killed by someone close to her, given that Vicki was shot but not otherwise brutalised. Only a resentful husband or lover would inflict that kind of overkill.

It’s pretty sad that anyone that listened to this case could of figured out it wasn’t what the cops thought. There should be trials for the police that did such a horrible job, it’s feel criminal like they helped the killer.

We should all be so fortunate as to have friends like Alan. Any one of us would’ve been put under the jail 20x over. Shockingly shoddy police work + cops afraid to speak up = a deliberate coverup. There is ALWAYS a reason when disastrous incompetence like this is allowed to stand. Horrible.

@Vexarax3 жыл бұрын
Casefile is a team of people! There are writers, researchers, editors etc. The man who tells the story is the narrator :) However there are many fascinating channels like this where one person all their own does all the research, editing, and narration themselves while also holding down a full-time job, I have no idea how they do it!! A _massive_ amount of work goes into creating a KZbin video (if it's well-researched and well-made). I have made a few small ones only 10 mins long (just for my own enjoyment, I'm not trying to be a 'youtuber' or anything, haha) and a 10 min video can take me over a week from start to finish, working upwards of 5 hours every day after work D: Many people cannot invest the time necessary to make KZbin their fulltime job, but for many of the more alternstive research-based ones that do they definitely deserve it! I just think they must have some magic power that gives them more time in the day!!

Alan was Vanessa's brother in law. There would never be a "father / daughter" relationship between such person's. She wasn't that much younger than him either. And it took her "years" to think oh maybe Alan killed her sister and Vicki?? It took me 5 minutes.and Chris was probably Alan's friend from prison.

Does anybody else think there is a bit too much Vanessa in a story?! I understand the need for an abuse victim to address their ordeal to reach healing but, to my mind, there was a bit too much of Vanessa in this story pulling blanket to her side .
@sacrosanctharlot64823 жыл бұрын
The same thoughts crossed my mind. Perhaps the point of mentioning Vanessa so much was only to establish what kind of man Alan was, but all the talk of Vanessa made it cross my mind that she would be implicated in the crime at some point through manipulation by Alan.

Wait a second, Alan met Julie when he was 23 and he was 28 when he killed her. So he wasn't the father to all of the children. It's good to have a clear understanding of how and when relationships begin etc. I thought he was the 10 year olds father but he wasn't. How could he take the children, if they weren't all his and he had sexual activity with teenagers?..it doesn't make much sense. Julie had children with another man not just Alan.
