This tow reminds me of a job I had towing a large box truck. Customer stated there was terrible sounds from the rear. I decided I had to tow it from the rear because it was probably a blown rear axle. Sadly though my truck was in the shop for service so I was in a coworkers truck that didn't have tall forks that I needed for the Customers low step on the back of their truck. I waited for what seemed like hours for my dispatch to send out a driver with my tall forks. In the end I got the job done and days later was pulled to the side by my boss asking for an explanation of why the tow took so long. After a short discussion, I heard my coworker was talked to about why he doesn't have tall forks on his truck. 😆

@tonytrumble10 ай бұрын
There's a lot more into towing big truck than cars, like making sure mirrors are folded in if you're towing it backwards and making sure side fairings are braced and tied so they don't get ripped off. I towed for the company I drove for quite a few times and quite literally got a crash course in what to do and what not to do. I pretty much taught myself through trial and error.

If I remember, the original owner used it to haul heavy equipment such as forklifts and other items like that. So it is a heavier build than the average roll-off.
@RowanHawkins10 ай бұрын
Its a heavy rollback. Not a standard one. Casey specializes in heavy equipment. My take is there is one other heavy tow company near him and then the normal light duty stuff for normal autos in his area. He does the forest rescue stuff for an excuse to go out in the woods it also makes him known to the rangers and forest management people which are more likely to need heavy towing so his contact information goes out when people like the propane truck company need assistance as an approved vendor.

@sped69549 ай бұрын
I'm kind of new to your channel, so this is the first time I've seen this truck doing something besides collecting dust in your yard. Anyway, on your wheel lift, forward of the crossbar, there's another crossbar that looks almost like another wheel lift, but it obviously can't be. What is it and how do you use it? All 19 of my years in towing were in the sub- 26,000 lb GVW class, so I've never seen anything like that. Your grids are a bit different than anything I've used also, bnut it's basically the same other that the fact that the ones I used to use were actual one piece L-Arms that slid back and forth through a 2" square receiver on the side. By the way, I really like that Zacklift setup on your other truck, and I've seen several of your videos with it. Getting yourself a set of grids or bars or whatever it is for that setup, if you haven't already and I just haven't seen it yet, will make that thing ridiculously versatile. Depending on the setup, you may find yourself using those forks a LOT less often, like in the instances of flat tires or tires that went MIA while a truck was being driven. Yeah, cool channel with great stories and commentaries. Hopefully you get many years and many miles out of that Zacklift.

Do you keep any connectors for being able to tap into their air system? A guy where I worked had a whole box for airing up the suspension mostly on car haulers so that low 5th wheel didnt drag. Glad you took the time with the L bars instead of just sht hooking the D rings on the back. FHP lets that fly for some reason, I think.
