We have a 2020 Spirit Deluxe Casita in Florida that smells clean and fresh. We use the quart size tub style, DampRid and refresh it every 4 to 6 weeks. They are very inexpensive and collect quite a bit of moisture, especially in the summertime. That is the entire key to keeping the camper nice and fresh. Yes, all campers or homes will be musty if you do not take care of humidity. The Casita is very high quality build and has an unbelievable resale value. I would say it probably tops almost any other RV or camper in that aspect. We just renewed our camper insurance and our replacement payout would be 25,000. Our camper is almost 5 years old! Most other campers at that point would be having leaks and bad roofs. Never a problem with the Casita. Also because of the fiberglass floor you will never have a rodent problem.

I wouldn't say "almost cult like" as it certainly qualifies as such and rightfully so. A few things have changed and/or been updated since this particular model was built. They now have a flush mount stove top with a folding glass cover and they've moved to a carbon filter hood which eliminates the exterior vent and you gain overhead space above the stove top. They have an updated electric jack as well as a newer solar equipped, multi setting exterior light for the entry area and on the nose. It's not necessary to remove your battery for storage, I am not sure who told her that. It appears they went with the standard large "hay bale" AC but they also offer a much more streamlined unit that's much more aesthetically appealing. Casita also offers a much better looking aluminum wheel option for pennies on the dollar which greatly improves the look of the trailer over the basic steel wheels seen here. These are fantastic little trailers and they offer many different floor plans to fit most anyones needs or desires. Resale is high on these units and most owners elect to keep them for many years. They aren't perfect but they are a very well built trailer that has most every need covered and a major step up from your mass produced stick and staple style trailers.

Thanks for sharing these great details…it’s a real help to the community! I definitely admire Casita’s product…it’s a solid lightweight fiberglass option.

“Stick and staple” a great term to compare with the fiberglass trailers. Definitely some advantages here including a smooth exterior and low maintenance.

Great review! I have been looking at and considering a Casita. Seems that my back is complaining loudly about 'roughing it' in a tent. Maybe it's time to consider glamping.

My concern is all the carpet padding I’m seeing on the ceiling and walls. Long term that stuff is going to start to smell and look terrible ???
@DayHikerFromTheSix19 күн бұрын
Like anything else in a trailer, you have to maintain it. Long term owners don't seem to mind it. Thanks for watching!

No. Even the Much older Casitas still have very high resale values. They have been building them since the 80s and I have never heard of any issues with the carpet smelling bad. I think the same thing applies to the camper as it does your home when cooking. Most owners cook outside a lot anyway. Of course I would never buy a used one if it had been smoked in.
@Porsche996driver2 ай бұрын
Guess this Casita style has been around a while. I also like the Scamps but somehow the “Casita” name is just charming and cozy. It’s like a small self-contained tiny home on a ranch. Dig it a lot! Alles Güte Ute!

Yay! Yes, value and quality! I love it! Carpeted walls and ceiling both? And how would you clean the carpet areas? Just with a rag soap and water? I wonder if it gets dirty quick. Love the idea though and the benefit that it brings.
@DayHikerFromTheSix3 ай бұрын
From what we've heard from owners, it has a lot of benefits and as long as you keep it clean, specifically where carpet meets fiberglass, they don't have any mold issues. Thanks for watching!

Does the carpeted walls and ceiling get damp? The whole reason I am looking for a camper like this is to avoid notorious mold issues that RVs have. I'm concerned that before long these would put off a musty smell.
@DayHikerFromTheSix4 ай бұрын
The owner said it helped with condensation. I would definitely join owners forums and consult owners to answer this question. If you leave moisture and humidity unchecked though, mold is a possibility in any trailer or home.

Nice video. I actually just recently released a video with my top 10 towable travel trailer for a Jeep Wranlger (3,500 towing limit) on my other channel. Casita was right there at the top, but had to choose the non-deluxe model because of the tongue weight. I like how you get folks to show off their trailers. very cool. We're also looking at an Alto.. but crazy long wait and such high prices. Sticking with our ALiner.. we'd show it to you if you're interested..

Is the rust on the bottom a concern? 4:45
@DayHikerFromTheSix5 ай бұрын
Yes it should probably be addressed with rust check or rust paint. It’s unfortunately not uncommon especially if the trailer have been exposed to salt on the roads during snowbird trips.
