Skincare red flags 🚩 🚩 1. Changes in lighting in before and after photos 2. Identical before and after pics (to spot if they’re the same look at the eyelashes, eyebrows, hairs on the skin, etc) > it means it was photoshopped if theyre the same 3. Preservative free products > they will grow mold 4. No expiration date 5. The ingredients dont match what the product claims. Tip for knowing if ingredients are genuine in a beauty product: look for the INCI list 6. ‘Chemical free’ products (everything is made of chemicals which means they have no idea what they were doing and not real scientists) 7. ‘Tried and tested’ products. Look for tested AND APPROVED 8. When brands attack/blame customers online 9. No negative reviews on the product 10. Pop ups like ‘5 people just put this in their carts’ > its preprogrammed for when u click on it 11. Expensive ass shit that could be found on aliexpress/alibaba/shein/temu > they got it from these stores and are drop shipping 12. Green washing

"dermatologist tested" has gotten me before 😅 thank you for all the information!! HEAVY agree on the relationship stuff! My last ex would make comments about my acne, not like "ew your skin is nasty" but he would just always mention it and say weird things as a "joke" that made me feel bad, even though I told him many times it made me uncomfortable and I didn't want him to. The relationship ended up being awful (for multiple reasons). My current partner has never made me feel that way, the only time we talk about it is when *I* bring it up. He has always made me feel beautiful despite my acne and acne scars. We've been together 5 years now (:

Those people that spend all day teying to get people to buy a starter package (any job that you have to PAY to be a part of is a scam and a pyramid scheme) and their focus is getting people to join their team, not selling any actual product. Dr Vanita Rattan’s sunscreen brand “Inzincable” claims to leave no white cast (it’s a mineral sunscreen SPF 50, she claims it’s good esp for skin of color) and she has a video of her and some relatives “reapply” the sunscreen over makeup but they disappear into the bathroom, don’t film them reapplying it and come out saying they applied it over their make-up and they looked flawless. Well I tried Inzincable and it leaves a greasy white cast. I’m sad for this because I really trusted her advice on all skincare but I no longer watch her content. Just my experience, maybe others have had success?

Maybe you all didn't test on any people of color but I clearly have a cast And then you make reviews on these products on the app.And of course tons of other people claim it had a cast,so sometimes I don't think that they test their own products on other people with various complexions...

The whole "clean beauty" or "anti sunscreen" movement is really bugging me. It spread so much false information that can cause so much damage. Clean beauty usually means full of essential oils and short shelf life, which can cause a lot of irritation and skin damage. I don’t know how old you are or how long you’ve had it but I had hand eczema so bad for the last 15 years that I always had some sort of sore on my hands. Couldn’t even get lemon near my hands when cooking or it would practically burn my skin off. I don’t have a cure for you so don’t know why I’m even responding, but I guess your comment just resonated with me since I’ve had such issues with it. Anyway…just wanted to say that I have no idea why, but I’ve had no issue after at least a year. Can even put acids on my hands now so there is hope! I doubt it’s any type of skincare though, just some sort of inflammatory response happening in our body.
@20thcenturyrelic3 ай бұрын
All I can say is, I feel your pain. I've dealt with eczema for 50 years, and I've learned some things to keep from getting it, and I have 2 prescriptions to use if I get it anyway. The main things for me are to keep my skin well moisturized and don't use products with fragrance and irritants such as isopropyl alcohol. Oh, and use gloves for dishes and cleaning. But sometimes I get it anyway.
@clownbag2 ай бұрын

Going full Cassandra today and I 💜it. Amazing video today. One pet hate of mine is going to a spa and having a facial, and it always goes the same way, them putting the hard sell on you and telling you how dehydrated your skin is. It’s also embarrassing when I have taken clients for a Spa Day and they feel obligated to buy something they were put under so much pressure (Inevitably form a really expensive line). Now I tell them upfront absolutely no selling unless the guest asks you. Unfortunately in South Africa, beauty therapists are not that well paid and are put in the position of trying to earn commission on product sales.
@20thcenturyrelic3 ай бұрын
This is also true in the US. Spa employees are generally pressured to sell whatever line the spa recommends. Or so I've heard. I don't have facials because my dermatologist told me not to.

One of my red flags: when a product claims to do too many things. I'm surprised some people aren't aware that the ingredients list are in order and if a product claims/boasts to have a certain ingredient it better be in the first half of the list (unless its an incredibly potent ingredient), and fragrances should always/almost always be at the end of the list.

If you can't afford too, or your doctor is criminally negligent. Get something Iodized, like potassium per Iodine, Do Not Use More Than The Recommended Dose. If that works, you have a thyroid issue. My appendix problem (technically a thyroid issue) was solved with antibiotics for a rooster attack, so I avoided surgery, Yay. I don't look at the coding, but any time it has a timer of how much longer a "sale" lasts--not like like 3-day Labor Day weekend sale but an actual clock counting down the seconds--or showing "someone in Ohio just purchased," I immediately refuse to buy from that seller on principle alone. Even if the product was actually fine, that's a skeevy practice that I don't want to support and also associate it with particularly low quality crap. Sometimes "only X left!/low stock" is one of them, but that can also appear legitimately, so that one alone is less of a red flag. Lots of major companies use that one, and products do go out of stock, though often only temporarily.

Hello Cassandra.. I am hoping you see this. I don't know if you made one already but I was wondering if you can make a video explaining how you got into the career you are in. I am very interested in becoming what you are, I am inspired if you will.. I don't have a college background or anything. Can you please give me some tips on how to get my foot in the door ?? Thank you

Incentives! I know that people are making their bags and I have no problem w/ that; however, make sure you don't just look at incentivized reviews because there will always be some level of bias for the product because the reviewer is being paid. This doesn't mean the product isn't good, it just means that you should also make sure there are people who went out and used the product of their own volition because they're also not being sent free products. It could be an okay or (even mediocre) product that isn't worth the hype and you may be better off sticking with what you already have or even stop you from buying unnecessary products.
