@TheLmende10 ай бұрын
I had a hysterectomy when I was 42. My Dr. who was assigned to Texas Tech school of medicine did my surgery, because I am a vet, and I get my care from the V.A. He started me on a hormone patch that he placed on my abdomen, after I had a Laparoscopic hysterectomy (no incision, no stitches). Long story short, I never had issues with hot flashes or mood swings, because of that hormone patch. I wish you could have been treated with a high dose of hormones. This would have saved you from the side effects, and you would have felt a lot better.
@shuffman809410 ай бұрын
I went thru intense chemo for aml with a bone marrow transplant when I was 50. Before that I had some issues and was put on progesterone. Pre-menopause was pretty brutal with all the symptoms that went with it. Chemo pushed me thru menopause and in the other side of it. So, I no longer get any hot flashes or those symptoms. I do feel better since there’s no imbalance anymore. But, the lack of hormones causes the aging process to accelerate. Skin Dryness like a prune. So, there’s some good to being past it. And some not. I really like not having the hormonal ups and downs tho!
@badger31310 ай бұрын
With a complete hysterectomy, ovaries removed as well, before you've gone thru menopause there's no excuse for you to have had those symptoms. There are hormonal treatments that help the transition. I'm sorry you had to deal with that. Very irresponsible physician imo

@@ruprect8858 I don't agree entirely. I can see if a child is not very intelligent and is raised in a way where they are not learning these social skills. But social skills can be learned without the pressure of thousands of others kids in their presence and not being bullied. By being around adults and no children, they will learn to mature fast and use their brain in a way where it is meant to be used. I actually chose to do home studies when I was in the 7th grade due to just not feeling like I could pay full attention in a classroom. I later learned I have ADHD and it explained why when around other people I hyper focus more on others around me while in class and just want to talk my heart out. Home studies really made me feel like when I was at home I could learn and the quietness is something I valued when doing my schoolwork at home.

On homeschooling and hysterectomy: both were the best decision I ever made for myself and my child. Welcome to the country. Girl, get you some chickens and a couple of bunnies. You’ll be growing so many things before you know it. You can’t get better “clean eating” than that. I know the country has its downside, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I want to out a home on the back of my property right now. It’s on the road currently, but I have 6 acres of wooded property. With my hysterectomy: once I got over not being able to have more children (when I knew I didn’t want more) I haven’t felt better in years. It took some time to heal and get my stamina back, but it was so much better after. I had mine in 2012. Love you!! You’re killing this!!

My daughter, who also just loves your podcast, had a scheduled hysterectomy and he nicked her bowel and she was leaking inside her body and almost died. Got flown to a trauma center and had an emergency bowel resection. The doctor told me she was “circling the drain”. I’m thankful she is ok now tho.

I am to the point of needing a historectomy myself. I am 39 and have been trying to put it off bc I am terribly scared for the pain and the recovery. I have had 4 c sections, but I hear this is a whole new thing. Sending live and prayers to your family girly. Sounds like a lot of life just happening. I'm happy to know you are well and the family is doing well. Love you ❤ girl. I'm looking forward to all the videos. I also know all about moving from a neighborhood to land. I am now on 10 acers in the middle of the Alaskan Woods homeschooling my boys. It's surly a different life. ❤❤ hugs. Tschandra

Please don’t be fearful. My births were all vaginal. The hysterectomy, including ovaries was really not bad at all. I spent one night in the hospital, my doctor ordered plenty of post surgery pain medication. I was 47, so you have an age advantage. Remember, you won’t have a baby to care for during recovery! I never had one second of regret.
@brianas562410 ай бұрын
It was not bad at all! I was mostly back on my feet after a week. The worst part was the night sweats for several months while my hormones were regulating. Its so worth it!

I had my Hysterectomy at 31 and I had it the old fashioned way cut like a c- section. I had both kids vaginally and the pain was intense after surgery for 2 day's until they upped my pain meds. The recovery after wasn't that bad I went back to work at 2 week's. If you can have a vaginally Hysterectomy I heard that is much easier and you don't have to spend much time in the hospital. I spent 4 day's with mine. They left one ovary in so I just now need hormones at age 54. Good luck and don't be afraid.

@@brianas5624 this is probably true for some ladies. I had been dealing with them for several years before, and being placed on estrogen post op I had very few afterwards. But it is a good thing to be aware of.

I used to have the mindset that kids should attend a normal school, primarily to develop social skills, have the option to participate in extra cirricular sportss and other activities. However, in recent years, it has become so painfully obvious that schools do poor jobs of educating. Underpaid teachers, lack of needed resources, and the prevalence of bullying, as well as too many teachers indoctrinating rather than educating, that I now know that home-schooling will provide a better education, allowing the student to develop and advance at their own pace. Not being held in check to allow slower learners to keept up, eliminating the pressure to keep up, and, being in a safer environment, is much more desirable. School districts who oppose home schooling do so, not because they are better, (even they know they are not), is because if their school attendance shrinks, so does their financial aid from the government. It really is all about money for the school systems.

It is traumatic to have a hysterectomy. Even though it was the best for my health I found that there was a period of mourning - facing the fact that I could never physically have another child. It is a very hard decision to make but when it is the only option due to medical problems it is definitely like a mourning process. You find that it is a decision not taken lightly but we need to remember that there are others that are important in our lives and it is also a decision made to make sure we are there for our own family we already have. I hope and pray for you and as well as your own health we need to remember that there are others who are affected if we are unwell and they worry about us which just adds another layer of what you are going through. I pray for you and your family and there is a light at the end of the tunnel - you are strong, loving and caring. Bless you Christina you are an amazing person and I applaud you for your love and passion for your family. Take care and know that even though I live in New Zealand I know you will get through this. You are amazing, strong and loved very much 🥰💖🤗
