Hi, I was wondering if you knew what the blue shaped V line is within the center of the audio track of Vegas Studio 15 when I edit my footage? I don't really know how else to explain it. It's also transparent in the center as if it clipped a portion of my video out that I didn't do. It only appears in the audio track section. I can't figure out what it is, what it means and how to fix it. I'm pretty sure it's a part of my audio that went missing during my editing bcus when I play it back, it sounds like something is a bit distorted.

17:24 Thinking of upgrading from Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 14 to Movie Studio Suite 15. I use the FX Hitfilm Witness protection and Drop shadow all the time. Not sure if the Hitfilm FX in Suite 15 has those effects or not. I did not see them in the video but that is 15 Platinum version, not Suite. 15 Suite says it includes "HitFilm Boost Pack" but nowhere does it say what's included in that. If it don't have "Witness protection" and "drop shadow", I won't upgrade. Why do they make everything such a mystery?

Let's say I just recorded a 3hr podcast, when I go to edit it all want is a still image of a background I drew up for the video while audio plays over it. How do I get the image to playout that long and what do you recommend I render it as for a KZbin video?

I have tried most of the free to own/download editing softwares. Windows Movie Maker, HitFilm Express, Davinci Resolve and now Sony Movie Maker. For casual-intermediate people who are just looking to edit basic fun videos for KZbin this is the one I like the best. Easy to use, easy to learn with potential for advanced users if you upgrade to Sony Vegas. Also Sony credits you for Movie Maker so when you go and get Vegas you get your full price on Movie Maker back on the purchase of Vegas. They also emailed me 15-25% off coupons regularly for upgrading so its not bad. I ended up buying Movie maker for 35$ with the 40% off coupon i received. If you just want free then i think HitFilm Express (their add text feature sucks though and little support for older extensions) was the best before this one but if you are willing to pay a bit go for Sony, it is essentially a full program with advanced features removed. Just my opinion.

Assistance needed! This isn't related to the video but my Sony Vegas 11 will not open even after I've tried launch as administrator. I recently upgraded my computer with a new video card and some RAM but I'm still using the same operating system and other programs launch just fine except for Vegas. So if there's some kind of patch I can download to fix it or if I can just use the disk to reinstall it which I do have but I may not have the code unless it's in the booklet which I may still have if someone could please tell me that would be nice. Or any other solutions would do

Just upgraded from 14. Thanks for saving me time finding new features on my own! I love how you explain things... Right to the point! The world needs more of that :) If you are looking for ideas... I'm planning some interviews. I want to split the screen, interviewer on the left, interviewee on the right (or vice versa). If someone is going into detail, I'll open their frame to full screen (then bring it back for dialogue. I'm pretty sure I'd probably use track motion but I'm interested in how someone at your skill level would take this on!

Is there a way to load video into Studio 15 from my pictures folder or a thumb drive without an internet connection? It said on the box must have internet to register and to use some functions. I wouldn't think that loading video from my hard drive would be one of them.

Please, when you remove something from the original HUD (like the master BUS) let us know how to get it back because inevitably we do something incorrectly and remove bar/icons and cant get them back afterwards. A comprehensive guide at a professional speed. I suppose one has to try out the numerous features and make full use of the 'Show me how' feature. It would do well to allow sometime to learn from scratch for the occassional user like me than to be induced to keep chasing the more recent upgrades. Let user learn how to crawl, walk, run and sprint than keep purchasing upgrades. It would certainly help ) to have a simple comparative Table of the various features of each release with prices at the top/bottom; and b) to provide an upgrade price like Make Music. As someone said " what we need is a trishaw and we are lead to buy a Rolls Royce"

How do I get my text to overlay on my video clip rather than an opaque background? For example, in my video clip I say the wrong thing and rather than record new video or audio, I just want to have text pop up with the correct info. Is there an "Overlay" function?

Make sure the text is in the text line at the top over the video line. If the text is on the video line, it'll cover the video and you'll only see the text.

I know how to add text, but I deleted my Text track and cannot UnDo this deletion. When I right click in the track list, I do not see how to add back a Text track. Hi, it seems you don't generally respond to comments - but here goes, anyway. I have Movie Studio 15 Platinum and my animated text presets do not animate as per their description. I'm assuming presets do not require keyframing. What have I missed please? Thanks. (uk).

It's difficult to respond to all comments when this is now an older video and I have uploaded over 1000. Hence, why I have my DMs open on Instagram and Twitter for easier communication. As for your issue, it seems like your software is faulty. I suggest 3 things; update the software, reinstall it, or contact Magix for support. Hope this helps!

That's exactly what I went through & a year later they still don't work! I had problems from day one I contacted them made out a ticket only to find that they cancelled it so they could run out the clock & I couldn't get a refund. They NEVER resolved the issue they kept running me in circles as far as I know there's no way to fix it. This is a very shady company it used to be good before Magix bought it. TELL THEM YOU WANT A REFUND! Get a refund & go for Power Director 17 I have had so many problems with them that I can't even use the program it's useless!

I have found this too. Extremely disappointing. I have also found that when i render in 4K it takes so much longer. The 15 doesn't look or behave too much differently than 14 which i wished I had stayed with and not upgraded. The picture in picture is nothing new as we can all do the exact same thing in all previous versions using the cropping tool. Are you having similar problems too?

David Pittman Salaam I already have Vegas 11, 13, 14 and now 15. For a while after. Loaded 15 it stopped me using 14, but fortunately I have that up and running again. 11 still works perfectly but doesn't do 4k. 13 stopped working after I upgraded to 14 but I don't mind that as 14 is still the best I've used so far. I still use 11 when I'm using multiple stabilized settings which don't make the programme crash and then I save and reopen in 14 for 4k. I know I'm sounding like someone who just wants to fund fault with everything, but u will say that until I downloaded 15 version all the others were very usable, I've tried several times since and it just takes too long to input clips and takes too long when editing to the point that mist of the time it crashes. The one major thing I upgraded for was because they claimed twice as fast rendering time, now maybe others computers may be more compatible, I have no idea if that's true or not, but it really is not good on my PC.

Sadly no solution. I found this disappointing myself together with the slower rendering speeds as opposed to vegas 14 which was a gem. I was hoping that I was actually paying for an improvement to mine but ended up with a far worse product. Good luck to you.

No Movie Studio is the worst out there & their customer service is non existent Try Power Director 17 you can use it before you buy. I did that with MS & when I bought it they changed it it was nothing like the demo.

From what I'm seeing Power Director 17 is the go to program I own Movie Studio 14 & it's been a nightmare dealing with them. They even cancelled my tech ticket to run out the clock for a refund. Mine was nothing like the demo & I have non stop problems with it & customer service is useless. Many times the program won't launch, files end up missing and the effects don't work. I still have all the emails dealing with them maybe I'll make a video with PD showing them so people don't ever go through what I have. Edit I see someone posted with the same problems I had & that was a year ago this person just got the program. I also see that their phones are down. They do all they can to avoid helping people but they are right there for the sale. Avoid them at all costs.

I really liked this review. It was very helpful and a sigh of relief having just downloaded the programme. However I give the tutorial a 4/5 rating, very in depth and easy to follow but due to my short spanned thought process it would of been more helpful to split each section up into a mini series of videos.
