I relate to her in so many ways. I have a problem communicating also. I get nervous when I'm asked questions most of the time and it's like all of my thoughts are blocked. This makes my explanations incomplete. I usually end up not making a point and finishing early because of nerves. Speaking like this does not mean someone is stupid, for anyone thinking that. I think that's something that's widely misunderstood especially these days. We're so used to watching people on tv and hearing someone criticize every word or strange movement or how someone looks that we forget we're talking to another human. I think this creates false ideas in people's minds about what makes a person worthy of our respect and attention and we're not able to interact with someone without having expectations. We can't seem to truly listen to someone without judging unimportant and superficial aspects of the situation. I understood what she meant. She couldn't have submitted that as a class paper and passed but that's not the point. She was speaking from the heart and didn't try to fabricate. Most celebrities I see interviewed are trying to have perfect answers and say what people want to hear. It's sounds rehearsed.

I completely get what you're saying, I have the same issues when I'm asked questions or when attempting to convey feelings through words. For me it feels like I go in circles. I get too caught up in trying to express what I'm feeling or thinking, as I fail to do so the anxiety builds and eventually the conversation comes to an awkward end, furthering the anxiety building inside of me. It's only become worse as I age, to a point where I don't socialize outside of work and only really hang out with my family. I don't mind it at all. I was extremely social in my late teens and twenties. After some serious addiction issues and finally getting sober I found that my mind was not what it once was (as to be expected). My social skills went out the window causing me to have horrible social anxiety. It's gotten better with years of therapy but it still lingers, catching me off guard at the most awkward moments. It doesn't help that I also have a.d.d. but I manage to function in society enough to get me by.

you shouldn´t care about that, those who find flaws on every second of a video or everything told perfectelly for the ones who cares about anything but the content of a message ,they are the ones who are frustrated with their shallow lifes and in this new kind of t.v. shows where the questions are not worth to be answered ,when you say it sounds rehearsed ,it´s worst than that there´s a earlier number of questions that are made previously and the answers are already made days before the recording of the show ,and it sounds fake not a real interview ,just a t.v. apearance with no value or interesting content, sad to see that they are increasing this kind of shows and people who made them don´t have any value as human beings, this reflects the ignorance of the people ,if they weren´t seen ,they wouldn´t exist .So, real people don´t even loose a minut of their lives to see this type of show, there are t.v. channels with better contents and real interviews about real matters,sadly this matters do exist and mainstream t.v. don´t even talk about them, if the world ends they wouldn´t notice, regards

Hello everybody! I am not a great cat power's fan; I listen to some of her songs in the 00's and remember one of my High school teacher had in her bag one cd of her. Ten years later i'm here because i listen some of her songs in loop in these days. I love youtube's comment section so i read It everytime and the people writing comments below cat's videos are great. All of you shy intelligent and sensitive people don't be afraid, you're not alone, you are precious

Thank you for this upload. I'm impressed by the great courage Chan Marshall displayed by even agreeing to an interview, considering the anxiety issues she had to deal with then (and now, perhaps). Even in those moments where she was struggling to express her thoughts through a haze of nervousness, her general meaning came though to me clearly, as did her enthusiasm for life and compassion for people (particularly while speaking about the inspiration behind "Crossbones Style"). She is such a sweet woman and talented artist.

why r so many people complainin about her "incoherence"?she's lying down her thoughts before us, thinking loudly. usually in our head things aren't always straight a or straight b. while thinking and telling,she is putting into perspective, questioning, critizing what she says. that may seem like uncertainty, but for me, even if there is some nervousness here, it is mainly what I call thinking. she has a real interior dialogue in herself and she is expressing it. so sensible, and so philosophic!

I always loved this interview. She looks like she's about 13-15 (she was in her late 20s) and there's a lot of really intelligent things coming out of her mouth. Makes her appear wise beyond her years. And even though she seems a little shy and awkward (especially the thing with her hair in her face) she also seems to be very confident in what she's saying.

I came here right after the 'Kids Songs with Cat Power' video, which makes both videos a lot funnier. I actually really like her incoherent, stream-of-consciousness style communication, because I can kind of relate to it. Chan is a little fucked up, she's very unique and she makes good music - which is a great combination for a music artist. Well, at least for the listeners.

Alcohol is one hell of a drug. Fortunately Chan Marshall could rely on her incredible musical gifts and of course her supermodel beauty to stay one step ahead of the bottle for a while. Unfortunately the vast majority of us do not possess Chan Marshall level qualities, thus we are slowly transformed into apathetic non-humans with our metal hearts. We are taught as children to believe in the meaning of all the bad dreaming, only to be enveloped and overwhelmed by a reality that is controlled by Demons.
@Narniak6910 жыл бұрын
I don't need to "find God". God is inside me and any other human being that tries to fight the good fight. That does not change the fact that we must live every day in this 5-sense reality that is controlled by the Demon Pigs. Until those of us that call ourselves "Christians" wake up and take action against the obvious Demon Pigs, they will continue their manipulation and consolidation of our world's natural resources, monetary supply, governments, courts, healthcare, big pharma, media, advertising, enterntainment, etc.

people who don´t care about unreal problems and are happy with what they have ,don´t age fast ,like todays youth is worried of being skinny,and with the years their bodies start to die ,and when 30 they look 50, when i was 40 my hair was strong and complete didn´t have loss of large amounts of hair ,i do eat, drink, make sports ,work in improving my house ,do not contract workers when my house needs to be painted or restore some doors or windows that are made of wood not aluminium and they need some care to endure the passage of time ,this makes a person active not passive and worried if in a few years they get older, and old in our society should mean that you had a long life and full filled with real pleasures ,not being young(when i say young i meant 16) and already worried when they become a 40 year old human being ,like no pleasures happen to those who are not young, sad is to see a brazilian beautyfull girl die of starvation at 16 because her body will change in two or three years, and having lot´s of money in these days it´s not normal to die of starvation, regards (sorry if my english is confusing but it´s not my first language)
