@63 yrs of age I am sort of hoping music in general make a turn back toward the better cuz if we use Cat as a comparison it's clear that musicians like him are few and far between anymore. I'm soo glad to have experienced the music of my generation. Some really special artists came from that time and Cat Steven is one of the best.

@@chasestevens803 True. I'd also add that it's not always about what happened but when. People were very accepting of creative music during that time. Twas a %%%%ing great time to be alive!!! I know, I was there and took it in. lol

I’ve been on a Cat watching binge, the last week. I can’t even remember how I got started, but I just came across this gem performance. I was a big fan in his prime, had all his albums, and after all these years I’d kind of forgotten how great he was! Thanks for posting this. And thanks Cat (& friends) for truly some of the best music of my life.

I had heard "Wild World" and "Father & Son" growing up, but it wasn't until High School, when I saw Harold and Maude, that Cat Stevens and his music just nestled deep into a real place in a soul still figuring itself out. To me, it was this pure ecstatic openness that cut right through all the confusion of moving through life at that age, and it let me know that I could and should be honest with myself, and open with others. It steered me in this whole new, far more rewarding direction that I think I'm happily still an ancestor of today at 32.

Cat Stevens wanted to be rich, and he achieved it. I was glad to be part of the early 70's Cat Stevens. The later religious nut, not so much. The simpleness of it all was great, a couple of guitars, piano and sometimes drums and his simple album artwork. Alun Davies, Larry Steele and Gerry Conway added to a great mix. Big hair Jean Roussel was great on the keyboards. You can tell when Stevens worked hard because it showed in his songwriting, hard work equaled great songwriting. Otherwise is just seemed contractual. Cat tried some different styles up until his return to the basic Stevens style writing in Buddha and the Chocolate Box. After that he seemed to be ready to leave the business. I really enjoyed this TV clip.

Hello, I can't understand your name. I would like to ask you if you can guide me in how they recorded the voices, the instruments. Something of a Spiritual magic during those times, mid-'60s to mid-'70s and the music from that era reflects it. A depth of feeling both lyrically & musically, sweetness of soul and kindness to one another which seems to have become lost over the decades since, not that there isn't a remnant plus a few who seem to be born with that freshness of times long past, but the signs are all around that the world is moving into it's dark night of the soul - but I will remember ...and smile

This was Cat Stevens at his height.About 5 yrs before dropped out of site and changed his name .One cool thing he does on Moonshadow is he plays the beginning with his fingers and has the pick between his pinkie anfd forth finger then grabs it with thumb and other finger when he does the strumming part.Have to look for it..
