Normal: You see only well either in the near, or in the middle or far away. So you need glasses for the other distances. Multifokal: you will not need glasses most of the time. But only about 30% of the patients have the suitable precondition for such lenses!

I know for a fact you don't have to be old to have cataracts.I'm 51 and have them.I know a 22 year old woman who has them.

Once your lens is removed, can you opt not to have an IOL put in for religious reasons?

Yeah, as that plastic lens degrades the plastic goes into your blood, brain and other places. Eye surgeons Never mention that part. There is Nothing Like the Original Equipment and never forget that.

@@GoodOptometryMorning Can cataract surgery be done with just numbing drops? NO sedation, needles behind the eyeball of general anesthesia? Is it still normal practice now days for a Dr to use anesthesia or sedation and needle injections?
