I was in a juvenile camp program and the city police took us on a fishing trip out in the bay. One of the staff members told us someone had to eat the heart of the 1st fish we caught. Resorted to rewatching these videos for the nth time after getting skunked today for the 4th time in a row. The underwater footage is amazing. It's mesmerizing seeing all the life underwater and gives me hope to know the fish are out there. Just need to find the right spot I guess, or improve my technique. One day I'll find it. Don't feel bad about the butter tipping over I went night fishing up near. Rio Vista. Probably 10 yrs ago looking to catch n cook some catfish (deep fried) I planned out everything except the frying pan realizing that as I was nearing the bridge I got a throw away pan and went on to my fishing spot I caught 3 total weight was about 4lbs whole they weren't big but 3 "would" have been enough to fill me up with the made at home coleslaw and my 6pack of diet root beer it sounds perfect right ? Just as I was plating everything up I reached over and turned off my single burner propane stove and the damn thing tipped over ,I was starving when I saw my perfect dinner falling between the rocks only one mouthful size chunk was saved and it was cooked to perfection still hungry after the one bite I ended up eating at McDonald's on my early drive home ! So don't worry about a little bit of butter you still had a great meal!

Nice vid! Surprised you didn't comment on seal(?) you caught on your first cast though haha. Also good job with the Ike Jime (i don't know if i can convey this well enough through text but it's pronounced more like E-keh G-meh), and you usually know if you did it right as the fish's muscles will twitch (a lot more than when you whacked it on the head) and after that it will stiffen and stay that way, and depending on the type of fish the colour will change within a few seconds. Not too sure about which type of fish changes colour because I only know the names in japanese, but looking forward to more videos and fresh eats!
