It wouldn’t be a bad idea to cook your fish at a higher temperature with an oil that has a higher smoking point than butter, like olive oil or canola oil, that way you can get a better sear on your fish. You can always finish with butter if you like, to avoid burning the butter.

I hate to be that person that is a know it all, but if you are hit or tagged by one of these fish you want to soak the affected area with water that's as hot as you can stand it. the hot water breaks down the enzymes in the venom that make it painful. there's not much else you can do. if you go to the hospital they might recommend antibiotics or any vaccines you might be behind on. other than that there's not much else they can do. the only reason I know this is because on fathers day a few years back my brother in law caught a sting ray and got tagged in both hands by the barbs. I've never seen that man cry until that stingray got to him. well anyway we took him to the hospital and all they did was soak his hands in hot water and then charged him out the ass for it. not sure what his insurance situation was but he had to pay up-to a grand just for the hospital to soak his hands in hot water.

I’m from Grand Rapids, Michigan where there werent any oceans near me and all, so I had never seen any blue fish. (Or any wild salt water fish) so, naturally, Seeing this was extremely cool! We recently moved down here to Texas so hopefully I’ll be able to experience something like this!
