Catch and Cook: Trout Fishing Down a Lazy River and Bushcraft Camping.
It's good to be back out on a catch and cook guys! I'm after a Brown Trout and down this lazy river is just the place to hook one. Come with me on this bushcraft camping adventure as I slowly make my way deeper into a gorgous woodland to find a spot to make camp for the night.
🏕️Join me on this ace bushcraft camp as I head deep into the woodland, searching for the ideal spot to set up camp for the night. Armed with essential gear including a new stove, the trusty Backwards Bungalow tent, and some nifty gadgets like a spanking new kettle and coffee filter from Firemaple, the stage is set for an unforgettable outdoor experience.
🔥 With an unconventional sauce tucked away in what seems like a craft ale can (you won't believe it!), I'm all set to whip up a mouthwatering trout curry cooked on this lightweight hot tenting stove.
⛺️ However, not everything goes according to plan. Yep, that's right, unexpected challenges raise their ugly heads lol, like a stubborn walking pole refusing to budge, leading to some creative problem-solving.
🌧️ And just when I thought I had it all under control, nature decides to throw a curveball. Join me as the weather takes a turn for the worse, with relentless rain testing the limits of what I thought was a trusty tent, leaving me to weather the storm all night!

I reckon Leon acted as a body double for the fishing scenes, no way Ant caught 3 fish on camera. Shame about the leakage but the new kit must be some compensation, especially that stove that's a brilliant piece of kit.

Haha!! Can you quite believe it Si, the master at work! The Trout legend 🦵 the miracle working, the fishing god... do I need to carry on! 😆 Yeah Chris pointed out that it could well be condensation and with the rain hitting the tent hard it was splashing down. I must admit I was puzzled when I was editing the video as to if it was really leaking. Yeah I'm over the blumming moon with the new kit and that stove!! Wow

What a shame you was getting wet but hey you can't win them all Ant we learn from our mistakes . I like the light weight fire that looks amazing . As for the Kettle and coffee filter I'm sold will be looking for one of them . Ant next time you go in Aldi look for the bottle of Satay sauce goes great with fish and veg . It's cheaper than the cans . Look forward to your next Adventure .

Hi Tarmac mate, yeah just learnt from Chris, he seems to think it was condensation which I was thinking too when I was editing the video mate. I'll have to see next time I'm out. Yeah, the stove is really something else mate, I'm just so please with how light it is! Nice stove that. I had them cans before, one exploded on me in the kitchen and went everywhere, then Aldi stopped them. Ill grab some as they did a nice spicy pasta sauce.

cracking camp spot there! close but not too close to the stream. the outbacker is a heavy one so good to see the lighter made ones. ive been looking at a steel as cant justify the titanium costs and these lightweight ones seem to do well. you sure you didnt buy that fish on't way from daves aquarium... well done on the catch though!

Almost didn't recognise you with the scrape, used to the beard..lol. Nice fish. I'm a curry man but really not into fish curries. Looks like good kit. I've seen those coffee filters but plastic ones, nice to see metal ones. We're spoiled round here for good spots mate, but a food worthy trout is summat.

Hi Benny, thank you sir! Yeah man, the Firemaple gear is really something else. I was gutted about my old kettle splitting as I'd had that since Jake my eldest was 5 (he's nearly 22 now) and bought it for our first/last lol camping trip so I had fond memories of it but after this one came and when I saw the quality, I'm more than happy to have swapped lol. Yeah Matt really helped me by gifting this, my back has been terrible for months and just felt I ain't got much more in me for carry a 10kg stove about but this! Wow. Thanks matey 👍

Hi Chrissy, yeah I've mainly done Bushcraft but started venturing out more into the mountains testing tents for a good while now. Fantastic! How you finding the Bobcat? Yes, sorry.. I really do not know what happened to the description. It completely disappeared! I've re done it best to my knowledge and all links are back up now. Yeah, I'm wanting the frying pan myself, it looks fab. Leon as got the 1lt pot to test so I'm looking forward to seeing that too.

Thank you buddy, yeah it was very tasty thanks. Yes, the stove is made by Onetigris. It was a special edition stove from a youtuber Lone Wolf 902 who shot to fame and did a whole load of work with them. They did a collaboration on this stove but then I believe (but don't quote me on this) he got too big for his boots so they both fell out. Not sure if you can get this stove anymore. I may be wrong though mate. Hope that helps a little

Nice camp out Ant - very relaxing. Those drips aren't leaks - it's condensation which is being dislodged by the rain drops, unavoidable in certain conditions. Stove looked the business 👍🏕️
