Catch, Cook, & Camp for Hungry Trout! (3 Ponds)

My dad and I head up to deadhorse ranch in Northern AZ for some camping and trout fishing. We fished 3 ponds and 1 river and caught fish on a variety of different baits!
Set up my tmbk 3 rooftop tent and spent the night camping in some fairly cold winter weather. This tent is awesome because I can take it wherever my car will drive. A great option for the Subaru crosstrek 2016.
These ponds and river were stocked 3 weeks in a row before we made it up, which made the trout fishing absolutely amazing.

I moved to the Phoenix area a couple of years ago and haven't had many opportunities to get out and fish. I have way too much gear sitting around. I'll be getting a Crosstrek Wilderness in a few months, so that's gonna change real quick. It was cool to see both fishing and car camping. Keep us updated on the roof top tent.

That technique of putting a power worm on a jig head is killer, I like the Pautzke fire worms a lot. I caught 20 brooder trout using the fake worm and jig head technique last spring!

@@TheFishinMagician20 no,its been 20 years...dude i,m almost 65...it just looked vaguely familiar...whats up with them calling it a" lagoon"...long way to the sea shore lol🤔 the verde river is more a creek so thats a stretch as well.they stock catfish there as well.the trout went nuts for mealworms.like they hadnt eaten in days.the wife got a breeder out of the river...18 or so inches..fun vid ,aparently my dementia is the mild form.

Limit is 4 trout per day. Some bodies of water is 2, but you can hypothetically catch those 2, then fish another body and catch 2 more equaling 4. So no matter what 4 per day here in the state. Some places are you pay a flat fee and the limit is like 5 or 6, but are spread pretty few and far between

I think they’re cheap and the most hardy. I think it’s just easiest. I know other trout species need colder water, and some other factors
