That's a Purty Fishin Spot For Sure, That Water Is Like A Dinner Bell Ringing, You caught some Good Fish again , When I first started using Jigs about 40 Years ago about the most common you would find was the Slaters Hair Jigs , I used The Solid Black didn't matter where I was fishing , they had some That was black with a Red jighead and a white jighead but the skirts was black , I put a lotta crappie in the oil using those , the Red Head I'd catch some Bream ,but the solid black was the best , I still use Black when All else fails , I Hand tied some squirrel Tail hair Jigs that's done pretty good too , We been over flood stage again for over a week but it's finally falling out, providing this rain tonight don't Dump a lot of rain Up above here By Monday I think I'll be back on the water , , I'm setting on Ready lol 😂😂 , Video Start and Out was PERFECT that's how ya do it brother, keep It Reelin Yanker 🐡 🐟 I 🎣 🤠🇺🇸

Yes I love this place the river has just dropped out too. But we did get a big 3-in rain right after that. Hopefully it won't muddy things up too bad. Back when I first started crappie fishing I used a lot of tube jigs and did really well on black and green. But I don't think I've ever done as good as I do on solid Black. I will probably be using more black since you were having great success over the years with this color too. One time I tied a hand tied and I don't know how to do it but I used black thread and squirrel tail and I was the only one catching crappie in the lake and there was a bunch of people there. Everyone wanted one of my jigs but I only had one. I just bought all the stuff to make some hand tied jigs but just have not got started yet. I am glad you enjoyed the video and thank you for the comment on the editing. I Appreciate you watching and your comments Donnie.

You must have been on the water Thursday afternoon before that low front pushed through. I finally caught that you are fishing the Cache river. I've been thinking that you were closer to east side of Little Rock off of the Arkansas river.

I'm in NW Arkansas. I get on Beaver Lake occasionally. I grew up fishing bream on oxbows off the Mississippi River. Just now learning to fish for crappie. Question for you, are you fishing south of I-40?

Why don't you change the reel handle to the other side? Seems pretty aggravating swapping from one side to the other. I use to do the same thing. I found it much easier after I got use reeling with the opposite hand.
@FishYanker Жыл бұрын
When I was a little kid my dad gave me a rod and reel and the handle was not swappable. I use that reel for a long time. Now it's just a habit.

From what I see you are holding in the current or moving into it but throwing and retrieving with the current. Is that the best way for pulling bettle spins? Also, even though that area is freshwater, is it affected by the tide?
@FishYanker Жыл бұрын
No but it is affected by big rains the river will rise with the big rains and then falls out slow. There is lots of ways to fish The Beetle spin, I just try different patterns until I find what they're after.

They are actually pretty easy to make. Just use the beetle spin wire and put a Bobby Garland jig on it and a Willow leaf blade size 2. I have started tying my own hand tied jigs too, so I can have the colors I'm looking for.

I live in California now. Fishing here is so slow compared to fishing in the south. We have very few places where you can just rip em out of the water like this guy is doing. The lakes here are deep, clear, with very little cover or structure. It's frustrating.
@FishYanker Жыл бұрын
I lived in Modesto, Ca when I was a kid and my dad would always find smaller creeks to fish. We did pretty good some times. Maybe there are some good creeks some where close to where you live. thanks for watching Sean

Get untouch with California Fish n Game. They will give you a guide book full of places to fish. I lived in LA for 33 years and fished on a regular basis while teaching for 10 years. Before my husband died last year we would fish from Waco Texas to Clearlake California every year. We stayed on Cache Creek and man fishing is fantastic and try the extremely long peer in beautiful Red Bud park. Gosh I miss that. But I must add fishing here in Texas is awesome as well.

I used to live in Abilene Texas also. Caught some really nice size largemouth bass in West Texas Area.
