Randy thanks again for the great stuff. You reeling in the whopper plopper shows off your guns.

I love spinnerbaits and I will watch your videos no matter what you do them on! When I watch your videos I'm a sponge! And I love how you experiment with lures and color them yourself just to try something different! Great video buddy

Great tips, Randy. I also find I can increase strikes by twitching it a couple times before starting the retrieve. And on the stop-and-go retrieve, a twitch or two while it's stopped is good before resuming the retrieve. Gets extra attention, like it's imitating wounded bait.

The Teckle Sprinker frog is awesome to use in the same situations as you use the Plopper for me

I've caught some monster Bass this season already on the whopper plopper. I also just picked up the 60 yesterday to give a try

Great tips Randy, I have found the Berkeley Choppo gets more bites then the Whopper plopper. The bone flavor has been killing it for me all summer! I fish it with my KastKing 7’3” MHF casting rod with the mega jaws elite reel. I’ve yet to get skunked on that trio 🤙🏼

One addition I put on ALL my whopper ploppers and choppos are beefier O-rings, usually 60 lb, and a 120 lb swivel. That allows the lure to spin if anything gets caught up in the tail spin. This will save your line. I use Flouro up to the 110 size, but after that I use 50 lb braid. You used to have to change out the hooks, but both R2S and Berkley must be listening, because both have beefed up their hooks to where it’s not really needed now.

Hi Randy, been loving the channel and nice "new" bacjground set-up. Was wondering if you ever use megabass topwater crawlers, when & where? Kind regards from Belgium

Just changed all those massive thick hooks with gama g finesse trebles and swapped out the split rings with braid!

Have you tried doing short rips and pauses with them? Here in Australia I've found the Aussie bass love that and will often smash it on the pause. Also, vary the length of the rip and pause.

Why are they not as effective now? Fish getting wise to them, or did they change the lure design?

I don’t know about Cicadas, but I was almost carried off the river in my kayak two days ago by these tiny black bugs. I have never been forced to abandon a day of fishing, but they were trying to end me.

I want your spinners bait videos love the spinner bait

When you talk about how the plopper is no longer as effective, it seems to me that you are really only speaking to tournament fisherman or people who fish highly pressured areas. But you are doing a disservice to casual fisherman who look to your videos for advice outside of competitive fishing. When I fish ploppers in small lakes in Northern Wisconsin or the BWCA ploppers absolutely slay. I would not fish without one. To be fair I would not fish without spinner baits either, but that's not the point. I really enjoy your videos. Thank you for your work!

I prefer spinner baits over chatter baits. & Swimbaits over spinner baits. Everyone is throwing chatter baits, whopper plopers so I stay away from them & always trying throw things I think or see is less commonly used I'm my area

It's probably because it's a top water bait and a spinner bait isn't. And where I fish you got a lot of submerged debris and heavy weeds. Plus the blow up when they strike.

I’m totally exhausted from technology,a kayak with 2 10” screens up front full tournament setup the idea of stealth should be a limit in these entry level tournaments young people can afford ,I like the tiny boat nation idea , leave it alone the simplicity.builds skills mentally,

You guys are insane. Using 40-50 lb braid? For a three pound fish?😅

DO NOT UPGRADE YOUR HOOKS. The lure is properly balanced with factory hooks. Larger hooks will make it sink and not work properly. YOU WILL NOT CATCH ANY FISH
