Now you’re in my part of AZ Catherine. It’s the best kept secret in all AZ. Here the west is still WILD. The water table is fantastic and the wild game and ranches and cattle all thrive. We have wine vineyards in Elgin and Sonoita and this part of AZ is AZ’s first designated AVA and produces tremendous wines. Great job as always and I’m glad you got to experience it first hand! To your point about Tombstone and imagining it back in the late 1800’s I’ve felt that very VIBE when you stroll Allen Street late at night and walk where those that came before us did. It’s EPIC.

We visited Chiracahua and Bisbee a couple years ago. We loved it, got in a fairly strenuous hike through the rocks after biking up the mountain on our brand new ebikes, which we loved our first experience e-biking. Then we did the Copper Queen mine tour, it was pretty fun riding the little mine train deep into the mine. We stayed at the Copper Queen RV Park in town, cheap and no frills, but well situated. Arizona is a great place to be in the winter!

Next time, don't miss the Queen Mine Tour in Bisbee-- an unforgettable guided tour on an actual mining rail train led by miners who describe historic mining operations. Also, Fort Bowie National Historic Site, 45 minutes north of Chiricahua National Monument, is very worthwhile. You have to hike 1.5 miles to get to the visitors center, but there are many historical sites along the way and pretty scenery, as well as the ruins of the fort. Learn fascinating history!

Being from AZ I enjoy vlogs of visits to our beautiful state 48 😊 I follow several other YT channels and those families have also been visiting our state, but in the southwestern part near CA and just north of Mexico. I always enjoy the snowy peaks (as showed in your vlog today) and a bountiful desert of ocotillos, saguaros and other desert plants (as they showed in their vlogs). I'd been to Tombstone and Bisbee nearly 20 years ago and glad to see they are still doing well with tourism. Looking forward to your next adventure!

We were just in those same places. The O. K. Corral reenactment was a fun show in Tombstone. The Queen Mine Tour was fun and interesting. After Bisbee, we went a few miles to the White Water Draw Wildlife Refuge and watched the thousands of Cranes and other migratory birds wintering there. Up to 3 free days camping, easy access. Camera and patience required. Karchner Cavern tours were great. Empire Ranch was great. So much to see and do in this area.

Ah, Bisbee. My favorite small town in Arizona. I've been visiting the town since 1977 when I was stationed at Ft. Huachuca. Back then it was still a small hippie haven and a pretty laid back place. Nowadays, it's being loved to death by those who find its charm irresistible. Back in the 1970's you could buy one of those hillside houses for under $10,000. They're over 100 thousand dollars these days. Throughout the decades it was a destination for me after backpacking for days in southern Arizona. I would get a room in the Copper Queen hotel or the Bisbee Inn and have beers at St. Elmo's or the Stock Exchange bars and recover from the hikes. I'm glad you're enjoying southern Arizona. Not sure if you're still in the area or not, but this this week will be perfect. Thanks for the tour.
