I'm 62 now and I didn't know that you can mix flour in liquid and get the flour taste out!!! I always thought it had to be mixed with a form of grease!!!! This casserole looks yummy and easy! But, my hubby, believe it or not, isn’t real fond of mashed potatoes (🤷🏼‍♀️ Go figure!). Could I make this with Kraft macaroni and cheese? If so, I’m guessing I would make the Kraft as directed and ladle it on the top of the casserole. How long would you suggest I put in the oven and at what temp? Everything is essentially cooked, so it would just be a matter of heating it up well. I might sprinkle some buttered bread crumbs on the top before baking. Lots of good, quick ideas on your channel, which is why I Subscribed when I first came across your channel just recently. Thanks you, Catherine!

This is very similar to my Shepherd's Pie except I mix peas & carrots with my ground beef instead of the green beans on top. Also instead of the soup mixtures for gravy, I use a jar of Heinz Savory Beef Gravy with shredded cheddar sprinkled over the mashed potatoes. Simple dishes like these .make easy, quick dinners ghat are delicious as well.

What a great looking scrumptious meal in one dish Catherine!😍 The layers of different components gives you the meat and the vegetables so nicely!😘 The only thing that I would cut down on is the onion. Raw onions, condensed onion soup and the onion soup mix are just a little too much for me.😋 I just have a little trouble digesting it. But I'm not opposed to some onion powder because I actually like the flavor.😉 Not sure how I missed this video on Sunday but it was probably because I was so tired. My sister fell and broke her shoulder so I've been taking care of her. She had promised to make cupcakes for a birthday party for last Saturday but she promised long before the fall. So I baked 2 dozen cupcakes Friday night and was washing dishes at 4 am. Her niece came over Saturday morning and baked the other 2 dozen. We also made an individual smaller cake for the birthday girl. Then everything had to be decorated after we made the icing. We worked on it until just after noon on Saturday. My nephew took all the goodies to the party but my sister and I didn't go.😞 We took advantage of the rest of the weekend just to rest. I may have gotten up late on Sunday and that's why I missed the notification.😢 And that's all I remember.😅 Your videos are such a comforting part of my day and I don't like to miss them.😥 Luckily this one just popped up in my feed so I was able to watch!☺️ I know there's a way to find any recent videos but I didn't do that. But sometimes I'll click on to your name and pull up recent videos so I can search for specific ones. I often go to your website to get ideas of what to cook! That way I don't have to think so hard!🙃 But anyway, that's the reason I'm so tired these days. My sister's fall was almost 2 weeks ago and she can't use her left hand. She's also left handed, which makes it even worse and there are a lot of things I have to help her with. My left hand is on my cane so I only have one hand free to help with. Sometimes we have to laugh to keep from crying. We're quite a pair but we're here for each other and we eventually get it done!🤗 Thanks for sharing another great recipe!🥰

This looks delicious! I make something similar with Campbell's tomato soup. I brown my ground beef with onions, then mix in the tomato soup. Pour that into my baking dish, top with green beans and mashed potatoes and bake until the potatoes are hot just like you did here. We called it Shepherd's Pie when i was growing up. Sometimes I'll use peas & carrots instead of green beans just to mix things up lol. Thanks for showing me a new spin with the onion soups. I'll have to give this a try soon!

Always enjoy Catherine's dishes. When I saw all the French Onion soup going in, I thought it might turn out quite salty(which I have no problem with) so I made a note to not add additional salt, But I think the two cans of green beans likely absorb some of the salt, and I am looking forward to trying this one. I think, also, I will likely add some mushrooms to the meat/gravy mixture.

Catherine, this looks very good but if I tried to put the gravy over the meat mixture as fast as you did, I would have gravy all over the walls of my kitchen. I'll just take it slow and make sure none of the gravy is lost. I think I will use cream of mushroom instead of celery.😋
