really like your pier, fishing ethics. Some people I've seen that are locals or professionals. Will literally run you over and knock your gear on the ground. Just to fight a fish, you are much more polite. Even when the situation gets stressful.

If you eat Bluefish fresh caught it's on of the best. You gotta bleed them the moment you decide to keep them though to be best. I used catch huge blues at Sebastian Inlet in the Spring and Fall when bait was running. Great fun on the jetties especially when the wind was blowing. We used to camp at the state park across A1A, for at least a week at a time. It was a short walk from the campsite but I drove cuz I had too many rods and I'm lazy. Tight lines 💙

I enjoy your videos. There was a pier fisherman that was well known on the gulf piers during the time I fished regularly. Frank Helton was always on PB Pier and I always fished close to him he could see fish coming for a mile. He came on the pier when I was playing a 56 lb Tarpon and he waded in to make sure I caught it. I had is mounted and over the years it deteriorated. He was a charter captain in Destin. He made the cobia lure that was called Ding A Ling. Look him up he was very well known in this area. Keep a tight line.

I arrived there about 9:45 am, you were probably gone. The only productive action was the guys with nets having a ball with the mullet schools. I threw a heavy duty Sabiki rig with only 4 hooks (it comes with 8 hooks but I cut it in half) and snagged a mullet in the middle of a school. I did it twice and snagged another fat mullet. And then there no more schools so I went home and fried those mullets. Oh, I also caught 3 yellowtails, good thing because my wife stopped eating mullets ever since she saw something shaped like a worm on a smoked mullet years ago but she loves the taste of yellowtails.

The fact that you don't always score makes me feel better that I come up empty sometimes too. Not that I'm happy you didn't, but that I know to keep on pushing. Navarre Pier has been disappointing for me lately. Looks like I'm going to have to try Pensacola Pier next. I'm just down the road from that bridge over Pond Creek. A fellow at church said there have been some nice Striper being caught there lately. Gotta try those fish balls.👍

The only problem with Bluefish is you have to cook them the day you catch them (which is one of my favorite fish to eat btw) otherwise they will quickly get that strong fowl flavor that everyone seems to hate them for. I've also heard soaking them in soy sauce or milk (same as with whiting) helps if you need to store them in the frudge for a few days.
