The plaintiff says the defendant asked her to be a bridesmaid, so she spent money on a dress and the bachelorette party. The defendant changed her mind, and now the plaintiff is suing for the money she spent. The defendant says the plaintiff didn’t follow her rules and never showed up for fittings. @@ShugaAnnSpyce it's pretty standard to have to buy things like clothes or plane tickets, and then you have to buy a gift or give money. People are just being cheap. With that said, it is important to be mindful when inviting people. If you plan on having some bachelor party that's going to cost each person $10k, be mindful if one of your friends isn't at that stage in life or never will be. One of my good friends had a falling out with her friend over bridesmaid issues. The friend expected my friend and her other bridesmaids to spend almost $5k between two flights and dresses and all sorts of other stuff. At the time my friend wasn't in a financial position to do that. Her friend was pretty nasty about it and told her she can't be a bridesmaid anymore and told the other friends of hers that weren't mutual that she was being cheap.

In the Philippines, sometimes ,the bride pays for her bridesmaids’ dresses and shoes and bouquets, head dresses, etc that the bride wanted them to have. But if the bride asks the bridesmaids’ to pay for themselves, that’s ok too. The bridesmaids will gladly oblige. But all other side events except the bridal shower , the bride has to pay for especially if it’s a destination wedding.

I wouldn't have accepted the invitation to be one of the bridesmaids in the first place. Too many demands! Then if I was the bride I wouldn't have put her out of the wedding but she would have been walking and dancing by herself since she didn't go to any rehearsals lol
