I know I’m going to get flack for this comment.. but $1200… for a prom dress?? We turn prom into a whole wedding! My daughter is a straight A junior, going into her senior year.. and I informed her that the limit is $200.. she wanted a “custom” dress like her friends for jr. Prom.. we ordered a dress online that we were able to do “custom” measurements, but it was $135. After going to jr. Prom she said.. yea we were in there dancing, laughing and having fun, no one was worried about their dress so we don’t need anything expensive next year. I said.. yep, we can find something nice that’s not breaking pockets.. nobody is going to say “darn your dress only cost this much?”… just go and have fun and don’t try and keep up with the Jones.. you’ll be off to college and we need that extra money for dorm room stuff.

Definitely buyers remorse. Ppl have to realize that just because you’d PREFER to have that money in your pocket doesn’t mean you’re entitled to a refund. The seamstress probably could’ve focused on those smaller details more if they weren’t changing the entire design back and forth. That’s the the drawback of any creative commissioned work. Clients think it’s realistic to yank a design back and forth and their designer/artist will still be able to get everything correct by the same deadline. Still this seamstress seemed willing and able to make rose alterations. Mom was being petty and took it some place else probably the buyers remorse was already setting in and she was looking for justification to get her money back.

Judge Mathis does not listen. The young lady asked for a dress with cleavage and if you look at the first dress, there is NONE. I think the designer decided to make the dress more censored because the young lady is heavy chested. The designer kept that dress and provided them with another option and got inspiration photos. Granted this dress had a lower cleavage but if the designer did the correct measurements her needing to fix the cleavage would have been avoided. She also gave them a dress with long arms and a hole at the bottom. It made sense with all those problems they take it to someone else. He acting like he can’t comprehend why they went else where and getting nasty with a child who was respectful.

What's really sad about paying that kind of money for a prom dress is that many of our parents have their priorities mixed up. This $1,200 gown was not worth it, and having her breasts hang out of the dress was not only inappropriate, but it was also classless. This young lady is going to Xavier University and that money could have been used for college necessities. As a 6-12 teacher, I continuously tell my young female students that their parents are dressing them more and more like adults. What that in turn means is that when you start looking like a grown (nails, eyebrows, eyelashes, professional make-up, and fake hair) woman, grown men start to notice you. As the person who plans the 8th grade prom, I make sure that I emphasize that breasts, backs, and midsections are not to be shown. The students really fight me on it, but I stand my ground.

Mom should have more wisdom than to dress her daughter in such a revealing dress for a high school prom. What was she thinking? I made three prom dresses and they were each beautiful and suitable to be worn anywhere. This dress was made for a much older woman and never to a school function. SMH

My first prom dress originally cost $360. The store my mom bought it from was going out of business and we got the dress for $65. We got it 3 yrs before prom. My second prom dress I bought it for $85. I went to my boyfriend's prom a yr after mine.

Why would any mother allow her daughter to attend prom with her bust exposed that much? Definitely inappropriate in my book. The dress was nice but nothing special. She could have found a better dress at a store.

This young lady us doing an awesome job on her educational journey, and I wish her much success! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 With that being said, although the times are obviously changing, as a mom of twin teenage daughters, I am SO glad that they didn’t go with the design of the first (white) dress with the “side pasties” look. The dress was beautiful, but call me old-fashioned, (I don’t care), that is a bit too much cleavage to pass this mama’s approval. 😂

This is a ridiculous statement. Anyone who has gone to school in the let 20 years will tell you that technology has not technology has not lowered the level of difficulty in academics. Assignments and exams are designed to prevent students from using the internet to get answers.
@listen-learn-speak24652 жыл бұрын
@ Lynne it may not say “your answer is” but it will tell you HOW to get the answers, where have you been the internet will TELL YOU EVERYTHING! Do your research! Try it google something!
@lynne7092 жыл бұрын
@@listen-learn-speak2465 No, it doesn’t. I can tell that you haven’t been to school in a long time or else you wouldn’t be saying any of this. Technology has actually made it harder to take shortcuts. I’m a millennial which means I can find anything I want online. I also went through preschool all the way to college with undiagnosed and untreated ADHD. If there was a shortcut to doing school work I would have found it because I not only have the skills to find it, I was desperate to find it due to my disorder. It simply doesn’t exist. I’m so sick of older generations trashing younger generations for having access to technology when you all made taking shortcuts in academics an art form. You were taking tests for each other, writing papers for each other, going to the library and reading study aids instead of the assigned text books, you were able to cut class because schools didn’t take the security measures they’re taking now and so much more. The reason why schools take academic integrity so seriously is in response to crap that your generations and generations before you have pulled but you want to be on your high horse because you used a pencil to take your shortcuts instead a laptop. Give me a break.

There is no way I’m allowing my teenage daughter to wear that to the prom and not expect her to be sexually active that night. Anything custom made is going to be expensive so I’m not paying $1200 for my child even if I can afford it nor will I allow her to pay that with her own money, for a dress like that to wear once & for a couple of hours.
@kittyb2752 жыл бұрын
Hate to break it to you. But you can't watch your kids 24/7 i doubt she's a virgin by the prom gets here anyway. Not many girls stay innocent. And if she's dressing like that for prom, i assure you she's used to dressing that way.
