I’ve decided I prefer this umpiring style. Instead of the quick hook and standing there listening to the player/manager yell at them, the umpires should just start yelling back and screaming but don’t eject anyone. Just have a shouting match and then go back to playing. If hockey players can drop gloves and knock each other out and still keep playing, don’t see why some yelling should require ejections. It would be funny if the players/managers talk about what a terrible umpiring job they’re doing and the umpires turn around and talk shit about what a terrible pitching and managing job they’re doing

Thank you for showing Walker some love here. He's trying to get it back but I'm not sure he has enough time. Smith calling more sliders and sweepers outside these days with Him and Miller, both are around the middle of the plate too much and balls are flying out of the park.
@JonathanAufderheide-ln8pr3 ай бұрын
I thought the same. Overall, this outing from him was on the positive side. He was getting the 0-2 counts, but struggling to get strike three, so it makes sense he got a little frustrated with the umpire.
@kamaka073 ай бұрын
@@JonathanAufderheide-ln8pr seems like Walker and Miller aren't quite ready to keep the top 3 or 4 of a lineup under control. That's OK, but Roberts needs to use them properly, middle relief bottom half of the order. That's what I see at least.

I’m usually the first one to say something about a ump doing a bad job but this was 100% on the pitcher. He shouldn’t be yelling at the umpire like that, and then everyone acts like the umpire is the bad guy when he chirps back.. it doesn’t matter if you like the call or not it’s baseball it’s not your job to argue balls and strikes and I was taught that from a really young age, I agree with standing up for yourself but let your catcher do that work, he should be asking the ump where it was or giving a little head shake if you don’t like the call but don’t yell at the ump as a pitcher that’s never going to get you anywhere.

I hope jomboy does a breakdown on that walkoff HR. Ohtani gets 40 SB earlier in the game on a left hander pitcher who just picked off Tesocar an inning earlier. In the 9th, Smith could have ran home two times but didn't (ground ball to 1B and wild pitch). They bring in a new pitcher. He goes wild and walks Muncy. It was even ridiculous that Ohtani was up since it would take a bases loaded two out situation for that to happen with no one scoring. Then Tampa has a mound visit to strategize. Then one pitch and it's gone. Ohtani was just locked in.
