I think it's worth mentioning that her having the baby would not have affected Don Henley or the Eagles. This is the way it is for so many women, that the consequences almost always fall on their shoulders, even when, as in Stevie's case, precautions were taken to avoid pregnancy.

You guys never mention the effect on the baby that lost its life, and by the way that was Don Henley's kid as much as hers but he had zero say in whether that kid lived or died. If people don't want a kid don't engage in the activity that creates a kid, she selfishly flushed away that kid's life so she could continue touring with a band.

I knew a girl in high school.... very pretty... somewhat promiscuous but not more so than any of the rest of us. Twenty years later I worked with her husband and we got to be good friends. One day he told me that the night before his wife, this pretty girl I had known in high school, started bawling about how she was a terrible person because she had aborted her child. She said she couldn't enjoy any of the material things she now had because in the back of her mind she knew the cost of those things was her baby's life. She was scared to die because she thought God would not be pleased she had the abortion. She was afraid she was going to hell. Most of all, she couldn't stand the thought of being confronted by the child she aborted in the after-life. What would she say to this child? Having a choice does not necessarily mean that the choice that we make is the RIGHT choice or the choice that we can live with. I readily admit that there are women out there who have had abortions who could not care less and not suffer any guilt. (Although the ones who have had multiple abortions... the ones who are using abortion as birth control.... are crazy. If you are having so much unprotected sex that you need to have 10 abortions you are also at a high risk of STD's. And if you need 10 abortions but are only having sex with one guy... you need to examine why you stay with that guy.) Let's not promote abortions to vulnerable teenagers and young women whose entire life may be destroyed by the guilt and loss of having an abortion. Let's not pretend that she is worldly enough to fully understand the choice she is making and the lifelong ramifications it will have. Let's not pretend that it is even her choice all of the time. Lot's of teenagers are pressured into abortions. Let's recognize that there are parents out there who pressure their daughters into abortions because they think they will be stuck with the cost of raising that child. Let's sympathize with the young girl who desperately wanted that child and will suffer for the rest of her life because her own parents forced her to get an abortion. I've known women whose parents forced them to have an abortion. One girl in particular came to understand at an intellectual level as she got older that neither she nor her parents could afford the cost of a baby at that time, but in her heart she still wanted that baby and she hates her parents for taking it away from her. There is no greater form of child abuse than forcing your daughter to have an abortion when she wants to keep that baby. Yes, you may be protecting her ability to go to college and have a career someday, but you also may be damning her to lifelong feelings of guilt and loss. Depending on her innate feelings about God, you may me condemning her to a lifelong fear of God and the afterlife.

I think an abortion is and should be a choice, not enforced- and no this this is not anti-life, people should be able to choose. From my work i know many many peeps whose brother or sister were abused by their sibling because the parents had like twelve kids, in the 90's and this happes still, in the USA, Europe, today, babies, toddlers and a few teenagers running in a house.......so many other cases with other scenarios....i am not anti- life, give your kid the best life, but, yes, i am pro choice, and an abortion should never be forced, and i know girls and ladies who have no guilt or regrets after an abortion, but i also have never met anyone who was forced to have one, i have met people who were glad with their choice, and i hope you will not deem them as less of value because their feelings are different of yours.

Hearing her explain why she had an abortion was awkward, It was her legal right (at the time) to do that and that's all the reason she needs.

I remember the first time I heard Stevie Nicks sing. I was sitting in my car in a grocery store parking lot and was getting ready to turn the engine off when Rhiannon started playing on the radio. I was absolutely mesmerized and I said to myself, oh, my God, I just found my favorite female singer ever! I was right. Thank you, Stevie! 💕💕

I salute Stevie for taking a stand on women's rights in this backwards looking, divided country. I too used that right in 1979, in 1990 I became a mother and could provide for a child in the way I believe children should be provided for, not just monetarily but to BE there and be fully invested in his life.

Roe v Wade was Unconstitutional. Regardless of your opinion on the topic, that is a fact. The Supreme Court did nothing wrong repealing it and did not infringe on your rights. "I thought Roe v Wade was an easy case in that the Supreme Court could have held that most extreme law Unconstitutional and put down its pen. Instead, the court wrote an opinion that made every abortion restriction in the country illegal, in one fell swoop. And that was not the way the court ordinarily operates" Ruth Bader Ginsburg. So, instead of 9 justices overstepping the Consitution, We the People have been empowered to vote on the issue. If you want it to be legal or illegal or have stipulations, convince your fellow citizens and vote. Now for my personal opinion, abortion is gross. You're killing your own child because you don't want to live with the consequences of your actions. Sex makes babies and women have total control over their bodies when they engage in consensual sex. There is no contraception that works 100%. To me the moral truth is abortion is wrong and it doesn't empower women. It empowers men. Is it any wonder that the out of wedlock birth rate has skyrocketed in the last 50 years? Men can sleep with as many women as they want and don't have to suffer the consequences because women and society no longer have the power to socially pressure them. The things we tell girls today "Focus on your career!, Have fun!, You don't need no man!". I for one think it's time to start telling women the truth.

Sometimes women get active in the pro abortion movement as a defense mechanism for dealing with the long term trauma and self loathing that results from getting an abortion. She seems like she is in a lot of pain over her decision. I wish for her sake that this interview was about her relationship with her child and the joy that has brought her. Perhaps we should all take a moment to mourn the loss of her child.

My comment on her SNL video is #1. "I can't believe SNL allowed a legend". I can't understand how it is #1, but I've been a Stevie Nicks fans as long as I've been an SNL fan and it would seem that all people who know one would know the other. I am shocked that people don't know her talent or how she empowered women through her songs. They're all about women having agency over their sexuality. I love it. I love all her songs and The Lighthouse is a message women need to hear. As a feminist Black Hispanic man it's always been my goal to empower women and Stevie has been my icon of an empowered women for decades! I only wish I could have met her in all this time. I hope we change this country back to a time where women are free again so Stevie can feel like she made a difference.

Her point is, the choice is up to the individual, not government. I don’t have the same thought that a baby instantly ruins things tho & again, you only find out what that outcome would be if you went through with having the baby. Doesn’t instantly mean ruin will meet you. You don’t know what kind of person that kid would’ve been. Anyway, the decision of aborting a baby comes from the individual themselves, not government.

The wonderful Stevie Nicks. I first heard Silver Spring on the flip side of a 45 when it came out (I was 10 yrs old), I'm so happy she's in this fight (as I knew she would be) standing up for what's right..a human being's right to choose what is right for themselves. I have been there.. listening to the story telling since "Rhiannon". My favorite story she tells.. "Sara". "I cherish you Stevie".. to me.. "you're family"..., "Peace".

You started in the womb with everything that makes you who you are today. Why do so many ignore the rights of the unborn? The mother is not more important than the unborn child, you, so many, have been deceived, badly.

Fleetwood Mac was an amazing band and Stevie Nicks was incredibly talented. I wonder who that child was, though, who they would have become, how they would have impacted the world. I have a hard time believing she is uneffected...the bond of a mother with their child (even unborn) never goes away. Interesting how she grieves for Christine but not her baby. I don't understand abortion.
