Sofía Vergara on remaking herself as "Griselda"

We came to know Sofía Vergara as the feisty, funny Gloria Pritchett in the long-running sitcom "Modern Family." Now she's back in "Griselda," a new Netflix series about Griselda Blanco, a Colombian cartel leader known as "The Black Widow," who, it was rumored, had ordered the deaths of hundreds of people. Correspondent Jonathan Vigliotti talks with Vergara about taking on the brutally challenging role (and about the prosthetics that dramatically transformed her appearance). He also talks with director Andrés Baiz and writer Eric Newman (known for the hit series "Narcos"), about the "big leap" taken by Vergara.

Griselda Blanco was the worst of the worst in the 1970s & 80s drug trade. She made Pablo Escobar seem like a gentleman. The drug wars softened a lot after her 1985 arrest. Without her we might never have had Miami Vice.

I wish the directors would shoot the series in their native language. Being Colombian I'm assuming most of the conversations Griselda had with her Latin American counterparts in Miami were in Spanish. It adds to the authenticity..

there are many scenes in the show that speaks Spanish. She also interacts with characters that are not Hispanic as well. If you want to hear it entirely in Spanish, you can just change the audio settings to Spanish.

Kudos to Sofia! After finishing watching the series, I can comment that I felt an array of emotions watching the evolution of Griselda.
