Archbishop of York rejects the authority of the Bible and the teaching of the church

During General Synod, Andrea Williams proposed an amendment inserting the words “as revealed in the Bible and taught by the church” to a motion calling for politicians to “prioritise the common good of all people.”
Andrea spoke on the need for the Bible to inform our understanding of the common good. She also proposed another amendment to the motion calling for the protection of life, the promotion of marriage and family and the maintaining of Christian freedoms.
Both amendments were rejected by Synod, with the Archbishop of York John Sentamu replying: “If you’re going to serve the whole community please don’t limit our language…The Word became flesh and sadly we are now making it Word, Word and Word again. Resist the amendments.”

With Welby in the World Economic Forum, he just perverted the CofE even further. That organisation goes against everything God stands for, if you listen to a great deal of what their speakers talk about. And... Not any of my business to say so, but if you look at the WEFs logo and the way the globe cuts through the o's in the title, look at the three numbers you get.

The Church of England is a man made religion like all other Christian denominations. The Pope at the time would not grant King Henry VIII a divorce so he could re-marry. Henry passed the Act of Succession and then the Act of Supremacy. These recognised that the King was "the only supreme head of the Church of England. Christ Authorised Peter to create the Catholic Church but he gave no other Man alive the authority to form another Church in his name.

Ouch. That dent in the moral fibre of society won't polish out. Perhaps, in a sense, the good bishop is of the making of puppeteering church and state. The unmaking of Biblical christianity is relevance and service to a community. Tragic!

Wasn't this all sort of inevitable, the entire church was made on impulse by some king, it never intended to get closer to God. It's very existence means you're willing to keep a gap.

Forget about the church of England, the Roman Catholic Church is the only Church authorised by Christ himself, all others are breakaway religions not sanctioned by the roman Catholic Church or indeed, Christ himself. Christ never authorised any other form of Christianity !

Christianity as in the book of Acts was fed to the lions by the Romans. Roman Catholic Church with its big buildings should go. Acts is how the church should be. When Jesus returns he will not gather any buildings. Just His church meaning His people.

All other Christian denominations that formed came long after the original Catholic Christian church because they didn't agree with one or the other, they all can't be right. "Just His church meaning His people." You still don't get it do you ? "his Church is the Church he founded, the Catholic Church ! Let me put it another way, Christ did not authorise anyone to form any other Church !

@o00scorpion00o well now,... I just saw a post where the pope autheticates other religions as being legitimate and equal roads to God...? The road to God is through Jesus Christ, who IS the way the truth and the life...not via Mary, not through the pope, not through purgatory, indulgences or any of the other NON-Biblical institutions or sacraments installed by Rome. Jesus installed 2 sacraments... Baptism and Holy Communion (Eucharist) not 10 as in the case of the RCC. Jesus was the last "priest" who sacrificed Himself on the Cross...and cried "it is finished" ...we don't need priests as mediators or pope's to intercede for us...the curtain in the temple's holiest of holies was torn from top to bottom to show that we no longer need mediators...(priests) ...Jesus IS our Mediator. We are justified (by the grace of God) when we repent of our sin and believe ...not by works... faith is the root, works, the fruit...not the other way round. We justified by faith ALONE, not by works so that no man can boast...quoting the Apostle Paul...don't suck up to what the priest said...read the Bible for yourself and invite God's Spirit to minister the truth to your heart.
