Despite having done step for too many years I care to remember, I really love the basic step classes. You can really push yourself and focus on upping the intensity. I am often more exhausted after these classes and my heart rate higher than if I do a more advanced. Feel very grateful to have the mix of classes Chris has available. My second time going through this today and I pretty much got it! Almost 65 years old, never did step in my life, believe it or not, though I've exercised for years! I love it...old me says "you're a klutz; you'll never get it," new mindset says, "I'll keep at it and figure it out!" Thank you for the great variety of workouts you make available.

Learning Step Aerobics? This is a great video to start with. Chris does an excellent job of walking you through the basics of step, learning the moves, and keeping pace. This is also a great video to help you practice what you have learned and also get a nice workout too. Have been doing step with Chris for about a month love all her classes especially the live ones. She has an extensive video library on her channel and i used this workout as a great start to a healthy active day (and to earn my morning coffee:-)

This is Karen. I did step in the 80s and loved it. It's been a looong time since then. I didn't use a step today, that's how out of shape I am. But this was fun and I got back into it reasonably well. A few stretches to start would have been useful. Tomorrow I'll just do what I can remember before I start. Bang! Over the past 3 weeks I have learned the basic steps, due in large part to the effectiveness of you! Your teaching is methodical and progressive. The kick step back was glitchy at first but you gave a solid 4 reps to get it down prior to doing it in tempo. I’m not ready for 140bpm but I am confident in the basic movements. Will continue to dawdle in your basic library for a few more weeks. These are killer 30 min workouts for fat body middle aged hockey dad, crushing 432 cals today! Looking forward to the next workout.

I loved the music. The stepping was a pretty good pace, but the music made it feel like I wasn't going really fast. Perfect combo and I've been stepping for years. I also love that you didn't try to cram 3 combos in a 30 min basic workout. Great job at calling all the moves before starting them!

I've been doing step class for a number of years now. This past week I traded the snow and cold of Pittsburgh for sun and sand in Florida. Didn't do any exercise but walks on the beach. (Sorry, not sorry.) I used this basic step class to ease back into exercising. Great workout for beginners and those that want to do something to loosen up the muscles.

I have a cold but still wanted to workout so decided to give this a try just to be active for the day. I felt bad that “this was all I was doing”. I ended up getting a pretty good sweat on. It was perfect for someone who didn’t feel 💯. I’m definitely going to tell those who want to try step to do this routine. Perfect pace and a great workout.

I got it! :) This is a great video for people who are new to step. Chris talks you through all of the moves and it's not too fast. It's also great for those who are experienced steppers. It's easy to modify by adding risers and increasing the intensity on the moves. Thanks for the workout!

I absolutely LOVED this! I used to take every class under the sun, but never took ANY step classes because the steps looked complicated, and I didn't want to look like a fool,haha😅 NOW after basically no real excise, I figured I had better start something as I just turned 60! I really need to get back to work . I bought a step and this was not too hard at all...yet Hard, sweaty workout, for sure! Thank you for this!

OMG! What a blessing you are! I find the basic workouts very effective and my husband even workout with me and we both get a good sweat! We both have a few pounds to lose but your basic workouts don't kill our knees. We've even done them without the step and still got a good workout. Please keep these up!

I am 50 years old and haven't done step aerobics for over 20 years. I used to do the advanced workouts with Cathe, Billy Blanks, and more. When i first started this video i thought it was going to be way too easy. lol If you are just getting started or haven't been in the gym for years like me, this is a great workout! That was good. Speed wasn’t too slow, definitely not too fast. An opportunity to get comfortable and confident with stepping. Confidence in one’s ability is important to progress to the next level. I enjoy the advanced steps and especially the opportunity to practice them on the tutorials. Keeping it fun and not putting too much pressure on myself is important. Thank you.🤗

I have just started step aerobics after about 12 years from my last class. I am so glad i found your basic classes here. 12 years older and about a hundred pound overweight now. Great beginner classes to get going again. Love your attitude. Love the instructions and motivation. My only suggestion is some more upbeat music would be amazing.
