Also, it is so pathetic that the first time we have a black President, the Secret Service drops the ball that badly. It might just be the fact that more crazy people out there want to show him that he isn't untouchable, but still: Racism isn't limited to the public, it probably extends into the Secret Service.

schlafanzyk I don't' think the SS cares about the race of the officeholder, but his nonchalant style in office has probably made him more vulnerable since they're like this is a cool boss so let's be laid back too; I was mad as fuck at Obama when he went out in public randomly without first telling the SS (remember those letting the bear out moments)...that was very foolish of him. He could have started a civil war if some crazy white supremacist had put a bullet in his chest or something and killed him. Can you imagine how fucked up America would be if he ever got assassinated. I know I'd be still crying it would be worst than Abe's or JFK's or even MLK and Malcolm X's assassinations combined because it would have taken place in a modern time. I strongly think the blunders that have happened have been massively overstated, even the one with the VET who ran past the guards. They could have plucked that guy from the roof with a scope but he was no real threat and the POTUS was not even in the WH at the time; trust me, had POTUS been there when he stormed through, we'd be having a funeral instead of a trial.

robb1324 Oh please, you gotta be kidding me. Just because she is a woman and told the media to shut up about Hillary's looks? I agree of course, but that's not revolutionary. It's pandering for applause like a politician, a lot of it was. Now that's fine as a comedian, but let's not have any illusions about what she did here. She was barely a 5.5 out of 10 on the Colbert scale. She had 3 or 4 jokes that rivaled his performance and may have been better than his average of the whole act, but that was it. Most of them were fluffing. It wasn't bad, in fact, I still really enjoyed it. But it was not even close to the brilliance Colbert delivered, so let's not kid ourselves. Even McHale and Kimmel were better overall. I wish she was as good as you seem to think she was. We desperately need that. And I hope it will be a woman, so that this kind of debate can be over. But it didn't happen this time. Not a single joke about the NSA, Snowden or anything slightly controversial. But I doubt people in charge would even allow that to get into the script again anyway. She would have to go off script and sneak that in from memory, which is one hell of a task. I don't blame her for not having the courage or confidence to do that. I wouldn't either. That's why Colbert was such a true hero. He managed to do what nobody dared or even thought possible at the time. It was historic.

Don't know why they bring comedians in for this event. All the people present are so uptight; they can't have any fun.

She was on of the best parts of SNL, but this gig was bad for her. Too many intelligent jokes that people didnt get, or jokes that were more facts then jokes
@jpracingph9 жыл бұрын
Devin Linker Its not her fault the room was full of idiots.
@masterarkaine9 жыл бұрын
No its really not. It didnt help her you was rather mono-tone the whole time, and as a buddy of mine put it "rather vicious for an SNL chick" She did a good job, just some of it was hard to follow for most, or just went too far for people to enjoy
@DiverseLA9 жыл бұрын
jpracingph I understood her "facts" but facts alone does not make something a joke, or make it funny. She had stretches where there really was no punchline; it was about pushing her political views. And even her attempts at being jokey and silly were weak.
@EmmanuelGoldstein749 жыл бұрын
DiverseLA Yep I totally agree. Her delivery was real bland and it undermined whatever punchline power her jokes may have had.

Watching her on SNL, gave me much respect for her talents , because she's so mild she can slip the harsh zingers without being crucified like Michelle Wolfe was.
@maxx20204 жыл бұрын
I think while she observed characters to impersonate in SNL, she sharpened her observations more. Its really amazing to see to how she uses her observations adding humour to share what she feels. Hearing her some smiles, some nods and some feels ashamed. Thumbs up Cecily.

I think she used the time to cleverly craft jokes with a much deeper meaning. Granted there should have been a balance of those and some with less abrupt social commentary. However, the comments are disgusting. I know you won't think the jokes aren't funny if you don't get them but please don't say anything about anything else. Just say you didn't like the jokes and move on with your life. Cecily is hilarious and just privilege checked everyone in that damn room, which is why they were not as responsive as in the past. Also that white hair joke had me weak
@dyinhope68404 жыл бұрын

Amhlair his policy record clearly shows that he's not a sellout, he had basically no choice. If he endorsed Jill Stein that would unfortunately just help Trump because of the retarded way the general election works.

She hit all sides. I dig it. Her opener "small brain" joke was right out of the Norm MacDonald playbook. Some of the jokes shot right past me, but watching this almost 5 years too late definitely impacted my comprehension. She's so beautiful and funny; one of my favorite performers on current SNL.
