Great content as always, guys! Just wanted to point out though that what you witnessed at Dragster was not a transfer on to run on a 6 train service. Having worked the ride before, we transfer on and test all 6 trains, but then transfer one back off to leave as a spare in case one of the 5 operating trains goes down for mechanical issues. 5 trains is actually statistically more efficient than 6. Thanks so much for the shoutout and swell time in the park. You guys rule!

One more Cedar Point memory for you: I went to Cedar Point the first week of the season when Magnum XL-200 opened. There was no padding on the lap bars, and no trim brakes! That last run down the back was intense! There weren't many people in the park that day, and I managed to ride Magnum about 10 times.

Fun Fact Dragster was originally designed to run 6 trains but the original design meant that Gemini would have to be removed as the tower for dragster would be at geminis turnaround so they shortend dragster and when they did that they lost a block section and so for efficiency purposes they run 5 trains.

White Water Landing (log flume) was replaced in 2007 by Maverick. You can still see some of the old flume as a waterfall near the housed que line, and the housed que line is the old station!!! When you exit Maverick’s gift shop, look over the top of fast lane plus entrance to see “White Water Landing” still painted on. The map in the museum was from 1999 I believe, depending on whether or not Woodstock Express is on it or not.

Definitely a raised eyebrow regarding your SV review, but that's okay! Totally agree on CP's ability to merch nearly everything but condoms and tampons. Maybe the reason they shy away from anniversaries-of-rides merch is two fold: 1) When does it end? Esp. in CP's case you'd be having anniversaries on top of one another. 2) Since it's necessarily dated, at the end if season what happens to the unsold stuff? Your advice to your fellow Britons to skip Florida is SPOT ON. And I say that having been a WDW Cast Member for 3 years. CP just represents SUCH a better value, in my opinion, than anything FL or CA can offer. I'd also like to offer an insight on how to get to Sandusky (SKY). Though it's rare that America's National Railroad, Amtrak, is a best option, thus might be one of those rare times. SKY has 4 services each night, 2 e/b, 2 w/b. Their terminii are Boston, NYP (NY City Penn Station), Washington D.C., and Chicago. You could fly into/out of any of those 4 cities and catch the Lake Shore Limited from Boston or NYP, the Capitol Limited from D.C., or either from Chicago going eastbound and you'll be in SKY between midnight and 0300.

Alton Towers went one better on merch, they sold Oblivion condoms!
@yourexperienceguide5 жыл бұрын
Daniel Lilly Awesome, thank you so much for the advice there! That’s something I’ll be sharing with people in an upcoming video about how to get to CP soon. I really liked Florida but Cedar Point is on another level and much better value.
@daniellilly75915 жыл бұрын
@@yourexperienceguide TOTALLY agree. Amtrak.com is the website for the train info. My buddy Joe ( his 1st time) and I are going to CP 30 days from today via Amtrak just as I did last year. Other than the middle of the night artival/departure times, it couldn't be much easier. Cab or Uber to Hotel Breakers was $10 each way, no rental car, parking or gas costs. Like I admitted above, it's pretty rare that our trains in the USA are a best option, but in this unique situation, it really is a wonderful and affordable solution.

Considering joint Great Ohio Coaster Club and going for the first time this year. Will I have time to get on all the rides or do I have to pick and choose what’s more important to me? Do you HAVE to go on them during their specific ERT, or do you have all day to ride them if you choose? This is important to me if I’m going to pay for a membership plus the ticket cost. Also, after buying the event ticket, will my season pass cover parking/admission still? So many questions.
@yourexperienceguide3 жыл бұрын
Hi Steven, I’ve only attended the one time and it’s a very relaxed itinerary, I didn’t do some of the activities included but if you want to do as many rides as possible I’d recommend taking advantage of the ERTs. It’s one of the best coaster events I’ve done and I’ve done a lot over the last ten years.
@steveo77712863 жыл бұрын
@@yourexperienceguide I very much plan to take advantage of the ERTs, I was just wondering if I happened to miss the time window if I would still be able to ride that particular ride outside of the window, or if they only run the ride in that time frame.

Been at least one a year ever since. I’m not sure where you Gus fly into. But I suggest either Cleveland or Detroit. About 2 Hours either way. So you guys know. Maybe I will run into you next year. Next year will be slightly split, between some of us just coming for Coaster mania and a couple of days either side and they will likely fly to either Cleveland or Detroit depending on which is cheaper, personally I’m looking at starting in Toronto to add Canada’s Wonderland on and Six Flags Darien Lake on the way back. @@yourexperienceguide A few of the parks you can get an amazing deal on, but i assume you already will have a season pass for both sixflags and cedar so that would only leave a few to pay entry for. Disneyland is the main killer when it comes to the entry fee, but its an experience everyone has to have at least once in their life. If you ever need tips on ways to save or cheaper hotels/area i can always help! I am a local to the magic mountain park and have taken my far share of disneyland/knotts berry farm trips! Since you will be driving, it would be worth going an extra 5 miles away from bigger parks like disneyland which tend to be pricier than any of the other areas. I suggest to also drive the whole time. Take the 101 freeway up the coast to the northern parks after hitting so cal first is my suggestion. The drive is magical. The monetary ray aquarium might be a good stop also along with big sur!

Just got back from Cedar Point. I think Steel Vengeance is easily the best ride in that park and easily the best coaster I've been on anywhere. It's relentless and resets the bar on airtime. I will say that I'm 5'10", 160 lbs and the restraints fit me just fine so that may have something to do with it. I'd also say Magnum isn't even in my top five at Cedar Point, I found it extremely rough and showing its age. Goes to show how opinions vary.

Which by the way I don’t know how I’m not sure I agree with your assessment on. It doesn’t have to be everyone’s number 1 but barely being in your top 5 at the park is a bit harsh I think. But I guess if you get a morning ride with trims and stapled I can get it. I’m also 5 foot 5 and not that big so I can’t relate to the restraint problem. Roger Edwards Marketing TV Unfortunately it wasn’t BPB’s fault on this, they wanted something very similar to Magnum but from what I’ve heard over the years, the steel fabricator who manufactured the track (on license/supervision from Arrow) were unable to get the hills like Magnum’s. Very frustrating really! 😓 It even says on one of the early planning documents for the Big One; “Magnum type coaster” at the bottom of the plans.

@@yourexperienceguide they celebrated the 20th anniversary with decals on the backs of the trains and at least one T shirt design. Maybe in all the planning for 2020 they didn't bother this time but the ride entrance does say 1989-2019. Very disappointing. Custom T shirts online then!

@@yourexperienceguide Thank you guys for personally answering me. Several years ago I been to UK. It wasn't a coaster tour but I did visit Brighton and rode some small rides. I did visit London, Cotswolds, Bath, Stratford upon Avon, Oxford, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Wales, Leeds.castle and had a lovely time. Next time I'll visit Blackpool and see your Pleasure Beach park. Any way have a safe trip home.
