Also in terms of steels, the S30V in the military I’ve been able to sharpen with my sharpmaker and strop to shave hairs quite well, the m4 almost seems too toothy, I’m sure there are many more skilled are sharpening then I. However the M4 will bite into a substance far better then a finer steel will. Kind of depends on how often you like to sharpen and what materials you often cut as well as style of knife.

Isn't that "lanyard hole" on the Police clip for changing it to tip down carry (it will go around the bolt). This will also make it sit deeper in your pocket

One of the springs on my 710 just broke, still works though so I'm grappling with whether or not I wanna send it in and be without it for 2 weeks or so...although I guess I better before the other one bites the dust.

The more I know about knives, the more I appreciate a good back lock.. No worries about weak detents, premature wear on some liner/frame locks, broken omega springs etc.. The Police just isn't my thing.. Not a fan of non/semi stainless steels either..I like the Spyderco Military.. The liner lock was done right.. The new CQI changes made the knife even better...

On some of those contego's, the spring rubs down on that abrasive g10. That with some hardcore knife fondling/flipping may be why some springs fail? Both I've wanted to get, but $$$... Aren't those 2 steels the most used in cutting competitions? M4 & 10v

I feel like this is a strange comparison, very different knives. I love the design of the 940 so I think I'd love the contego and have always wanted to try one, the design of the police doesnt speak to me as much but I definitely love a good slicer and for that reason alone I wouldn't mind trying one. Awesome video as always. How does the contego compare to other hard use knives you have had, like the hardcore hardware and the like?

everybody new to knives would chose the contego! in my opinion the police 4 with k390 is in every way superior over the osborne contego. thin grind, better steel, supirior ergos, much better geometry!

Love the Contego! Too bad is lacking in the QC department. Police has a too thin of a handle in that length, a more delicate user; like a kitchen petty knife. A finger choiled Endura. Great comparo vid!

Neither knife is attractive in appearance, but the Police isn't trying, while the Contego tries and fails, and that's why the Police wins, hands down, in aesthetics.

Frank Martin the contego is a sexy blade and definitely hands down better looking the the p4 .. the stainless police with the swedge is a different story and in my opinion better looking than contego
