I just ordered my 2nd 6'6 medium.. I absolutely love the action these rods have. Can't find one better for sturgeon.. running a talica 10ll. On one rod and a avet raptor on the 2nd .... oh boy!

Hey John I paired the Cedros MH 6 foot jigging rod for Bottom fishing and Jigging Grouper,sea bass and other bottom critters. The rod is paired with a Torium 16 PG with 65lb braid. Do you think the MH is to light should I up it? Thx

Thanks John, I am about to pick up the 6 foot, heavy spinning jigging rod. May I ask? Why is there no gimble, it is because it is expected to be used under the arm, not in a rod belt? I know I fine it very useful to drop the but section into the rod belt. Thks

For the most part, these were made as speed jigging rods. To be used under the arm as you mentioned. The heavy halibut rods have a gimble though.

Hi John, will the Cedros CJ-C-601XHa 6'0" jigging rod be able to handle 200+lbs tuna down in San Diego?

No problem! They are all glass rods with a ton of both backbone and give. I'd definitely fish one with a flat or bait.

I would like to purchase one of the 6'6" rods but im a little confused (65-200?) as to the line ratings on these rods and how much pressure they can actually handle. I will be primarily fishing for large grouper and amberjack in swfl and in the keys. The reel will be my new mak 16 sea with 100lb jb hollow with a big bait (keeper snapper, big grunts/blue runners). I dont want a broom stick or a pool noodle; but can handle being warped by 50lb+ black grouper.

These are an E-Glass blank design. The XH has a nice parabolic bend to it and will definitely take the beating of big AJ's as well as big grouper. We've been fishing these off of Venice for quite some time.

I'd probably go with a popping rod for that over the Cedros. Something like the PCH Popping series would probably be ideal.

11 will work out fine for stripers.

I’m interested in a 10’ Cedros surf rod. I’m nit seeing much on the detailed information if they are casting or spinning rods. Can someone verify which reel design these rods are? Okuma website isn’t to informative in regards to that. Thanks!
