Thanks man! Just switched my tsunami wing for a TRD and this video was a lifesaver! I was also able to de-pin the connector on the wing so I didn’t have to drill another hole haha. So awesome that the driver side wing hole is bigger so the wire actually fits!

What is the point of the "dummy" green wire? Does it have a factory purpose?

toyota will do this add extra wires but not use them. like my old corolla. we had the wiring for the power windows and locks on 98-02 corolla but some did not come with power option from factory so we would simply install regulators and actuators and have those options because the wiring was already present.

Just tap into the brake wire. You will need to run a wire from the spoiler up the hatch.

Do your regular brake lights work or is the trd spoiler connection replacing them?

Regular tail brake lights work going through with this method. All I am doing is disconnecting the 12v line from the top hatch brake light and putting it to the TRD spoiler light. Im not running the hatch brake light since I am using the TRD 3rd brake light cover. You can wire the TRD win brake light to the Hatch brake light, just run a wire to the top and splice.

This method is removing the 12v wire from the top hatch brake light and re routing it to the TRD 3rd brake light. The original method is like that, that hatch brake light cover is by TRD

hey! very great video. i actually installed my trd wing but it was working on and off. and now it blew the brake light fuse and i replaced it but now only the two brake lights work. could the bulb in the 3rd brake light be blown? and if so how the hell do you replace that😂

I’d manually check the led strip on the spoiler. Get a pc power supply and provide 12v to the led strip to verify if it’s blown or not.

Kinda a pain but worth it. I did have to unplug the wiper motor and disconnect the zip tie holding it to the hatch to give more slack. But it works perfect, thanks.
