yusuke urameshi (pronounced yuske), is the main character of yu yu hakusho, he's a spirit detective, which means he hunts down demons who attack people and stuff

The characters here are from an anime called YuYu Hakusho, which was a series about a high school delinquent who died and was recruited as a demon hunter. Lanipator abridged it before TFS got its start, so he was reprising the characters for it here.

Yu Yu Hakusho is the name of the anime and Lanipator (Krillin,Vegeta and so on) has an abridged version of the anime, you guys should def check out both. It's what he did before coming over to TeamFourStar. You guys would enjoy the series because it is super similar to DBZ and their structure of events.

I am of the belief that the Dark Tournament is the best tournament arc in an anime. Including DB and DBZ. It's so good. Then, Chapter Black only improves upon that.

Well, it's all the matter of opinion and taste in anime. I do agree that some episodes from YYH are better than few episodes from DBZ. Especially with the vary of personalities and abilities from some great heroes and even villain characters from Yu u Hakusho. But DBZ is more popular, due to the continuation of story arcs, unlike YYH, Yoshihiro Togashi is more focused on his HunterxHunter series, than rebooting or continuing the YYH series.

DBZ and YYH are 2/5 of the 1st animes I love them both but I do agree I enjoy yyh slightly more. I used to come home from school rested, remove my school uniform(asian private school) and watch the afternoon anime lineup. I remember how mad i would get whenever they revert back to the 1st episodes because the dub caught up with the latest episode.

there are alot of anime that are better, but something about db and dbz, will always be better with every1 from heart cause its something that grows on you, its a great classic even if there are better anime out there. There is nothing that replaces db and dbz with people who grew up with it.

No single blasts on YYH have seemed like they could come anywhere near blowing up a planet. Sure S rank demons could turn the surface to rubble, but I don't think they could create a blast so powerful it turns the planet into literal dust. Never seen any characters in YYH who actually try to blow up a planet though, so who knows.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. He was a planet buster during the fight with sensui when he lost control, so he was beyond a planet buster during the Demon Tournament. Problem is, Cell has ultimate plot armor in these since they take place before the Cell Games. So he has to survive or win. It was the same thing with Light Yagami and Saitama. I don't know much about One Punch Man, but Light honestly should have been able to kill cell, even if he had more than one heart, they all belonged to him. Thus they all fell under the name perfect Cell and would affected equally. Also Light can choose the time and cause of death, even forcing someone to commit suicide if they're name is written in the notebook and those details are written within the next one minute and 45 seconds. The person must also be capable of carrying out the actions written, if they are forced to write something they don't know or for example they were supposed to commit suicide across the world in 10 minutes, they would just die of a heart attack. So he could have had Cell fly into the sun and vaporize every cell in his body preventing regeneration. Cell is certainly capable of flying into the sun. Holy shit, listen to me. What a NEEEEEEEEERD!!! I used to binge that show every day for a year. I have a lot of the dialogue down by heart still. lmao

It would be fun to watch because Saitama might actually let Cell play for a bit, but the thing about Saitama is he doesn’t have a power ceiling. It’s not even that he gets stronger as the fight goes on either, that’s someone else from OPM, no Saitama already has essentially infinite power, he has no limiters at all. Most punches we see him do in the show, those punches that liquify monsters in an instant, that’s the equivalent to a regular human gently placing their fist against something and lightly pushing. His ‘serious punch’, a FINISHING MOVE isn’t even him going all out, it’s just him putting a little effort into a punch, ACTUALLY throwing a punch. It’s not like he does one Serious Punch and it drains him, no it’s just him legit throwing a punch.

Yu Yu Hakusho (Where those two characters, Yusuke (the guy with black hair) and Kuwabara (the oaf with the orange hair) are from.) YYH was my first anime, then the Dragon Ball series. I advise that you binge watch or react to the series, it's really a fantastic series, it equals to Dragon Ball, and sometimes surpasses it in terms of how it is well-written on story-telling, a lot of tournament battles and great action-adventure, drama too, in few awesome episodes and arcs. (Funimation also did a spectacular dubbing. Yes, almost all VA casts in DBZ are the VAs for the series. Such as Justin Cook (Raditz), Chris Sabat (Vegeta), John Burgmeier (Tien), Chuck Huber (Android 17), Linda Young (Former Frieza), and many more great VAs.) I absolutely adore this series, and I hope you will too.

Then after watching the Yu Yu Hakusho series, I would recommend watching the two movies, then Lanipator's Yu Yu Hakusho Abridged. Yes, the YYH content is quite a handful (It has 112 episodes in 4 story arcs), but I think you guys can manage it (Seeing that you react to Dragon Ball Super and the TFS Abridged series.) I wish to see your future reactions to Yu Yu Hakusho someday :-)

I suggest you guys watch Yu Yu Hakusho. It's a '90s anime about a delinquent school kid, Yusuke. He dies in a car crash and after the underworld says they weren't expecting his death, he is given a second chance. When he returns, he has the power of a Spirit Detective, the ability to see high-class demons and stop the paranormal behavior. It pays attention to character development and combat more than anything. It is considered one of the better animes; I think it's safe enough to say it could surpasses Dragon Ball Z in some ways.
