Yes I think it is. I started in 2016 when I retired and bought a BMW R100 from eBay. Took a train to the Highlands of Scotland and rode it back through monsoon type rain. For 6 months I worked on the bike from the frame up, a passion I had for years. I only bought the best parts available and the total build, including the bike cost me £10,000. BMW Motorad used the finished bike for 3 months as a centrepiece display when they opened their new showroom. After about 18 months I realised I was never using it and decided to sell it. As long as I recovered my £10,000 costs I would be happy, the hundreds of hours work I discovered is never paid for. How wrong I was 😬. Used specialised sites and not even a reply or question. In the end back to eBay and I had one offer of £5000. Same story with each rebuild...divorce faces me if I even speak about it ever again 🥵
