Your story is beautiful. I’m 81 years old. I was young, my parents moved from Arkansas to Kansas in search of a better life. My parents got good jobs and improved our status. My grandparents still lived in Arkansas on a farm with no running water or electricity and no indoor facilities. When I was about 10 years old, my grandparents came to Kansas to visit us where we had all the modern conveniences. One day I said to my grandmother that I felt sorry for how they didn’t have all the things that we did. She said oh , I feel sorry for you that you are missing out on all the fresh air and benefits of living out in the beauty of nature that I live in. Lesson learned ❤

Cesar, I live in the UK and watch all your videos. I've rehomed rescues for the last 30+ years always having 3 dogs at a time. I started out poor, on a farm, and identified with your early life. I have learned so much through your videos especially now as I need help with my new 5-year-old rescue "puppy farmed ill-treated curly-tailed bulldog, Lola" She's very loving but confused, dominant, protective, aggressive all caused by past history. Lola arrived 6 weeks ago, slowly I've concentrated on making her feel safe and secure with the freedom of the garden and home, training her to understand basic commands and introducing a new life to her slowly, step by step. Thank you, Cesar, for helping people to see animals through different eyes, making them understand it's not the animals, it's the humans that need to be trained before bringing a pet into their homes! My mother in law (who passed away in 2010) was raised in Sinaloa and she spoke all the time about her beautiful “poor but not poor” life in Sinaloa. When you, Cesar spoke about the respect and reverence for “mother” in Mexico… it reminded me of a time I was walking in Guadalajara, and a young man passed me and said: “You look just like my mother” with a beautiful smile of appreciation! Raised on a dairy farm in Australia about the same year as you. We had a creek running through the property, how much fun and games. Fresh milk of course, cooked with lard naturally. So many wonderful memories. Wouldn’t have had it any other way. Most favourite thing in the entire world are dogs. Off leash and free is the best for them. This is so wonderful. What a story, so different than my white side of Albuquerque upbringing when I had a lot of Chicano (Mexican-American) friends and just didn't get how different their culture was other than that they were all Catholic. I am especially touched when Cesar searches for English words when on the show his English is effortless. I have been trying to learn Spanish and my Spanish as first language friends tell me that you first learn the language of a particular subgroup, say tech business, for instance. But one friend says he learned that first and now struggles with the language he needs for his astronomy hobby. Cesar is super fluent and still he is finding a bit of a hiccup when talking about his life. I just love it. A friend of mine recently said she wanted to just put him in her pocket and take him home. I agree. What a lovely, sexy, heartfelt man.

I had a two dogs who were terrified travelling on the bus. Both trying to climb into my pocket. Eventually I had enough of being kind and sympathetic. I felt bad telling them no but eventually it just clicked with them. They flourished afterwards. Much better for me and so much better for them😁
