As a retired teacher, I know what a hug could do for a child. So many times I was told not to touch a child. BUT sometimes a hug is what a child needed. Excellent film by these 2 people. It didn't take an entire movie to get this point across. Continue with your dreams and making wonderful films.

This brought me back to my own childhood. But, when I was a child teachers did not intervene when signs of abuse were obvious. I have two beautiful daughters and I am proud to have broken the cycle of abuse. My girls know they are loved and cherished by me. (And so do my grandchildren!)

She didn't even know ME as a student, although I was in her class, and she defended my father. People just didn't want to talk about it at that time. When you get someone who is so caring and understanding, they will always see through you. No matter how many times you hide your bruises (sadness, damage), they will always know that you’re hiding something and you’re not okay. Unfortunately, there are few people of such kind but I hope we all get at least one person who makes us feel better when we’re at our worst

people need to know that not only direct physical abuse is terrible, attempting to hit a child but not actually hitting them is abuse, threatening the child is also abuse. mental abuse is a thing. children are not objects for your needs.

I recognise this so much...my friends always wonder why i flinch at someone shouting, or why i always cover my face when someone flings at me...i thought everyone treated their children like that and that I was just weak...

That’s what a teacher *should* do. They should be there to teach you, but also to give you emotional support. My teacher criticized what I ate, made it seem like I was the one bullying instead of another student bullying *me,* there was a student in my class that had bullied me the whole time I had been there, which was about six years. That teacher was a little bit toxic.

This short reminded me of a classmate from first grade who was never taught how to ask people nicely to move out of her way. She was never mean to me, but seriously did not recognize her own behavior of frequently pushing and shoving me. My mom got concerned when she noticed my arms were covered in bruises after coming home from school. She came with me to report the girl because it was an obvious sign that her parents were irresponsible.
