+Skribb a typical failure on focusing to have the CGI then not to have them in any effects but background for a love story. I meant really, they even made the entire beginning sequel as an excuse to make the movie ???@@

The Russian VFX studio 'Main Road Post' has done an exceptional job in this movie. It is quite unfair that this studio is ranked 97 among the top animation and vfx studios in the world. They deserve to be ranked even higher.

+Andrii Surzhenko.....As far as I am aware there are only a few countries that subsidize the VFX industry. The highest subsidy is 17.5% paid by the Canadian Government to Canadian VFX industry. Which means that Canadian VFX studios get $17.50 back for every $100 they pay as tax. Maybe the Russian Government pays the salary for the employees in VFX industry while the owner takes the responsibility for paying for the IT/Software infrastructure needed to start the studio. The point I was trying to make from my previous comment is that studios with high talent should be ranked much higher. Who pays them is irrelevant?
@Toebex9 жыл бұрын
This is one of the most impressive things I have ever seen in my entire life. I mean holy shit, come on now. VFX artist never get the respect they deserve. These guys are far more talented than any actor, so why are they getting paid millions and VFX artists aren't? It's absurd. Maybe one day I could maybe make one of the elements in one of these shots... maybe...

ok I get what ure saying that they should be paid more, but actors and VFX artists have drastically different jobs, plus there's a ton of other people who have jobs nobody really thinks about. really overall everyone has a role to play and the people who are paid more are just simply the people who the public is more interested in. everyone has talent, it's just what the public sees as being more interesting

bay doesn't do the explosions. ILM does.
@douglasdias156010 жыл бұрын
Mahesh Walatara You're damn right, dude.
@aginnsz10 жыл бұрын
Mahesh Walatara That's right. He doesn't do any special effects actually. He did not design the robots, he did not come up with the idea (Transformers have been around for 30 years). He doesn't create the 3D models, the animations. He doesn't do the compositing, rendering, color grading. He doesn't do the cinematography or sound design. He definitely doesn't build the sets, makes the costumes, or do the actors' make up. He doesn't even edit the damn movie. So what does he do? It depends, but the bottom line is that he is responsible for every frame in his movie, and with the kind of budget he has, he can do whatever he wants. In a small budget independent film, directors don't have that kind of luxury. The have to compromise constantly. Michael Bay doesn't. If he wanted anything to look different in his films, it would look different. If ILM did a poor job with explosions, all he had to do what ask them to do it again, and give them good directions. ILM is a pretty capable VFX company... This is his movie, these are his explosions. And yes, they both suck. Another thing: Stalingrad cost $20M to make.

JakHC depends on the shot, some things like making the environments / models and texture painting is quite time consuming and manpower intensive, but some of the shots like particle systems effects, clouds, fire, water, etc can be set up fairly quickly but require a great deal of computer power and time to render.
