Just an FYI: when you're showing that ivy growing on the shrub, at the base of it where you mention different varieties, that's not actually ivy, it's cyclamen, Cyclamen hederifolium to be exact, and that botanic name actually means "ivy-leaved cyclamen". So, hopefully you don't pull that out. It comes into bloom in late summer and is outstandingly beautiful. Later on where you have the peonies coming up, there's both ivy and cyclamen. The cyclamen grows in a sort of circular pattern of leaves, so you can distinguish, they also tend to be a bit more triangular.

I love cyclamen. Unfortunately, our summers in north Texas are too hot for them, so they're treated as annuals.

@@rayn8740 If you have a bit of afternoon shade, you can try Cyclamen hederifolium, that's one I grew in west Texas. But yes, the florist ones won't work at all outdoors without winter protection. They're OK outdoors in summer because they go dormant.

Wow! That sign Rob found is gold! It lists the original owners, the architect and the painter of the magnificent dining room ceiling!! And....the ancient history from 1375 of what was originally on the property, which has a religious history. That's so cool!! Edit: now I see the translation on screen. I was too excited to wait. LOL

Rob, mowing and thinking and particularly considering what a board member asked. How ever can you qualify with proof how much good your student visitors derive and possibly change the world for the better? It's likely there are other ways to get bigger results, but this idea of taking groups around Europe and having time together working, studying, enjoying meeting people from other parts of the world seems a wonderful experience for them. They will pass along what they learned to their children later, to their friends and families.
@dawnbarnes8729

I think the prospect of this becoming a legacy is very high. The amount of kids who come and experience what God has for them and still be able to enjoy the idea of being abroad and learning about the European culture, is going to grow. Rob and Leslie have the opportunity to increase the number that they can accommodate once the attics are renovated. When these kids go home and start their lives in whatever capacity they choose, they will look back on their time and glow with warm memories. The blessing will be double when the first student comes in who is the child of a past student. That will be a great day! ❤️😊

Hi! I am glad that your weather is better and you can get outside. Spring projects always make me happy too! The holes in Your fence can let the boar in I think. Great job with all of the rose bush planting! It is so pretty! A place in the country no matter the size has it's challenges. I hope that you get some volunteers this year to help outside. You are such hard workers! Please have a very good week!

You new Grandchild is going to be quite special. I have a 5yo Siberian and I can tell you they are very special cats. One of the amazing things about Siberians is they will climb trees like a monkey and they have no fear. Even as a kitten we found that he would climb right to the top of the large trees and run down the tree. Amazingly, he once ran straight up a telephone pole and sat at the top for 1/2 hour then just climbed down all on his own. They are insanely good hunters and if given the room to do so will clear out any mice within miles. One thing that we found true about Siberians is they pic one human as their favourite and tolerate others. They are very loyal to their chosen human and will follow that human everywhere. Hope we get to see a few bits of the kitten growing up they are utterly adorable!

Watching you both and all that you do you are so committed to Gods work with children going into adulthood I admite you both so much it's you're lifes work , God sees what you are doing I know you have problems with that beautiful building but you'll be rewarded by seeing the joy in your students faces and hearts. Wish everyone could be touched by your love and your belief it would make a happy world faith in God many have forgotten about God and that's where the trouble has started , I've believed since I was a small child even in bad times I've never blamed God its not his fault it's making the wrong decision in you're own life. What you are doing is a calling and a beautiful gift to give someone . All schools should be like yours teaching the word of God how happy the world would be joy and a wonderful time visiting places , you're children must be so proud of you both I know I would be love being part of you're journey in beautiful France God bless you both ❤❤❤

In terms of the return on the investment in the study abroad program, you are planting seeds that will bear many of different types of fruit. It’s a long game (like most good investments). It would be interesting to keep track of the paths your former students carve out in the years ahead and what role their study abroad experience plays.

Just a thought🤔 Any old appliances etc can draw a lot of power. I had a great fridge (older model) but my power bill was huge. So as an experiment I left the power on to things that were for everyday use and turn the fridge off, went out and checked my meter box which was ticking over very slow. Then I went back in turned all those things off and turned the fridge on and whammy the metre box was churning. So to my disappointment I had to give up my old fateful and buy a newer model fridge.

Appreciate that, thanks:). One of the things I learned teaching in a university is that very smart people disagree, often. When I was a faculty moderator I joked that if you had 30 faculty in a room you had 32 opinions:) All that to say, I do think it's good to engage, and to try not to be defensive when someone comes in with a different perspective.

I live in Virginia and Ivy is a big problem here too! Sad to say, but the only thing I found to do it and if you can’t remove, the roots is a spray that kills the IV and kills the roots! It just kills the IV. It doesn’t kill the other plant surround it and you spray it on the leaves, and the leaves carry the poison to the roots! I have to use it because of my age there’s no way I can pull the roots out but it seems to work incredibly well not sure if your stores carry it but it is specifically for poison ivy. It works originally it was designed for poison ivy plants which grow everywhere here and they are runners and just run wild but it works on regular ivy or any type of ivy, and like I said it doesn’t kill other plants

The ivy is troublesome. Have the resident "mower" trim as he can. You'll need to clear around the base of the tree. You should have great compost/mulch from your forest to put at the base. Should give you a start to manage it. Good organic weed killers in the states but I don't know about France. Sorry for the problem.

Rob & Lesley the roof look absolutely fantastic, just think that you have another 100 years, have you found any stone edges around the formal garden areas? Rob on the 3rd floor external structure there are two vestibules that appear house a statue or something? In the previous photos we could not see if in fact there were anything placed there, food for thought. Great to see the sun shining. When is the tractor coming? I’m watching another KZbin channel in France, where a single guy is renovating a château, and because of his subscribers he was able to purchase one, but I’m thinking you might be able to rent one. It is a lifter! He uses it to lift all kinds of things multiple floors to the roofwhich he is restoring the roof because it was destroyed by fire! So why don’t you research a lifter before removing that radiator

With Mr. Bingley, you also need to be careful of a certain type of centipede in France, and in Europe! I have friends that mourn me about it, because their dog got stung by the quills when he was sniffing it! Evidently, it’s extremely poisonous to pets and animals! Within minutes, the dogs tongue can swell and suffocate him! Fortunately, they were close enough to a vet. They could get him there immediately and they do have an anti-venom for the centipedes, but he almost died and it took months for him to fully recover! So you do need to keep a closer eye on Mr. Bingley and you need to make sure that In case Of Emergency like this you have a game plan! I would even if it were My Dog check with the vet about purchasing some anti-venomthat I could administer immediately in case his tongue started swelling in case you found the quills in his nose!

Instead of buying plants, have you thought of propagating them? In many cases it is super easy; just put branches in plastic containers with soil, water them, and half will grow. On a large scale as you need for LG, it will save a fortune. Do it in large quantities: putting three branches in three pots takes as much time as putting twenty in twenty pots.
