Absolutely true. Years ago when I told my last boss that I wanted to open my own shop, I thought he was going to tell me to get lost and never come back. Instead he hooked me up with all his vendors, bought me a massive new 5-figure tool Matco tool box and gave me all kinds of equipment. Then he started sending customers my way. To this day I drop whatever I am doing to help him. Same with my biggest competitors - the guys who own that shop are my best friends and we help each other constantly. Genuineness and loyalty are hard to come by these days.

I remember I wasn’t at the RUC shop for 10 minutes before Rabbit started cracking Blind jokes. I’m sure a lot of people would have been appalled at that, but I love it. Do you wanna know the reason? Rabbit, that’s a beautiful thing! Reminds me of my dad. He thought me that, he would always help his friends and family find jobs, help out of binds and he always enjoyed it. Thats selflessness! Being a good guy! It’s sad that you see more haters than good people! Love this message. I always try to put as much positivity out into the world as I can because when I do I feel good. This week I stopped in a small town and Archie's smoke shack (literally a travel trailer) and the guy running was telling me how it's his first business and he's a recovering addict and he wants to show other people in recovery that they can do it too. I couldn't talk the guy up more I just hope his day was a little bit better because of a small conversation. Keep it up Rob keep the positivity going.

Rob - Agreed! As others have said this is true and it is true in any field as well as being true in marriage and in any family. I was working as contractor computer engineer at a large aerospace company. Being a contractor means they can let you go at the drop of a hat. A bean counter can look at the budget and cut you loose so fast you won't know what happened. The regular IT employees were very suspicious of the contractors. They would worry if we were there to evaluate them or perhaps to replace them. We turned the tables on that. We would pick out the things they were doing right and really focus on those positives and tell the managers how great these employees were and how they were doing a great job. Did they make mistakes? Sure they did like we all do but we would focus on what they were doing right. Soon everyone wanted to work with us because they knew we would be influential to their managers in a very positive way. This eventually led to me being hired as an employee for that company and being there for 17 years until I retired. I had a policy of telling any new manager I was assigned to that I was going work my hardest to make them "look good" and that I would be asking them periodically if I had made them look good. One manager said she had worked there for many years and no employee had ever told her that before. Always remember that you will reap what you sow.
