Chains are also a great way to break through plateaus. Load up with your 1RM bar weight, add chains and adjust height so all chains are on the ground or deloaded at the bottom of the lift. Use enough chain that once you reach lockout you have %105-115 of 1RM. This allows you to use full range of motion while still working with supramaxial loads, which aids in muscle fiber recruitment, and encourages maximal force output through the entire lift. 💪

Mark, I've been a heavy lifter for over 32 years. I am most impressed that you use a "thumb-around" grip and NOT Suicide-grip. I never understood why the guys I admired, (when I was a young wolf in gyms,) insisted the thumbless, Suicide -grip was REQUIRED to "push" the weight during the Bench Press. I won't get into all the excuses they gave.....you know them all......but I've seen too many injuries to disprove that nonsense. Great video, pal! Stay healthy, my friend.

Ever since I broke my scaphoid bone, I've never been able to do non-suicide grip comfortably on bench press. The heavier the weight gets, the more irritated the surgery area gets. The break happened in 2016. I do must things in gym with a "thumb-over" grip now. Pull-uos, deadlifts, etc. Why does it really matter what grip someone uses, anyway?

What about with deadlift? I use them but they get in the way at the bottom. Put chainz at ends of bar?

You can use a regular spring collar and clip the chains to that so the chains don't get caught under the weights. If you sumo ,you can put them in the middle -- but I have short arms and the chains hit my balls, so I just use bands on the deadlift. Reverse bands can be good for speed work too.

So itz still so typical for people to think women can not press as much as men but my goal over the next 3 years and that's just because I don't have many friends to even help spot is to be able to get to 200 pressing and I love the chain thing even at low weight. Any suggestions for a introvert and meeting people lol to work out and gain with

The average woman can't press nearly as much as a man. That's why it's typical for people to think that...because it's a fact 🤷♂️. Bring me 15 thirty year old men who don't workout, and 15 thirty year old women who don't workout, and let's just say all of them weigh 180 lbs (both the men and women)...I would bet the whole farm on it that every single dude will bench, squat, and deadlift more than any of those women. The only lift that MIGHT not have as huge of a difference is the deadlift, but the men will still lift more weight. I understand that there are freaks out of nature type of women out there, but they are far and few between!
