Man, watching this makes me really miss getting out with my dad and one of his co-workers to cut firewood when I was a kid. I'll never forget getting my hands on dad's old 266XP when I was about 12 years old, that feeling! The smell of 2 stroke exhaust and saw chips, the feel of a chain that's cutting real good, I miss it badly. Dad passed about 5 years ago now, I kept his old 266- that thing still runs like a sewing machine (although it either has a vacuum leak or needs a new carb or something). Just the sound of it reminds me of cutting wood with him. After spending a day bucking up some giant red oaks, after coming home by the next morning, our coveralls hanging on the hall tree made the house smell like a barn. Thanks for what you do Buckin! I'm sure dad would've loved your channel too and learning the little tricks of the trade like how to get a chain to cut better than new.

I lost my Dad q few years back as well. He taught me what work is. He was a hard Man. No matter what went wrong. We stuck with it an finished whatever it was we started. Cause he had job monday through Friday. An when he retired. We went bass fishing. Ever day I wasn't at my job. An we learned together. How to catch big bass. Your comment reminded of the best times of my life. Thank you!

Billy, if you wouldn't mind answering a question I'd really appreciate it. I'm about to restore a McCulloch super 44. If you're unfamiliar with it. It's 80cc saw. What kind and length of bar would you run on it? I'm going to follow your advice and open up the exhaust at a minimum to get some horse power. One more question if you don't mind. My specifications sheet says Chain pitch 7/16 Chain type Oregon 61c. What chain do i order for this? Thanks for any help you can offer. Peace and love backatcha brother.

Taking down larger size trees and buckin the trunks. I'll most likely grab my smaller husky for limbing because it's easier on the back. But for standing and buckin, I think this thing should be awesome. I think for now I would just like to know what bar you would throw on it for that, and I'm confused on chain size. It was built in either 57 or 58 according to the sheet ive got. Thanks for any advice you can offer.
@jamesrice72872 жыл бұрын
I've noticed you often use stihl light bars. Are they truly lighter? If yes I'd love to know which one of those to order, I really want to run the longest bar i can with this saw. I may rarely if ever engage the entire bar. We don't have that many big trees where I'm located however the longer bar will be for preventing me from stooping. I've been through a long running medical issue, not complaining just a fact, and I know I've got a hard road back. That being said when I am able to grab my saw, and I will be, I want it to be sooner rather than later. Lighter will be a big help. Thanks again friend.

Buckin, Buckin, Brother, seriously. You should not say just ground chain. You should also say round or square ground chain. Becuase us fallows, do both. We square grind and round grand our chains. Besides all that the factories do both. All chain from the factory is either square ground or round ground. It all comes down to what your preference is. My preference here in the North east of the USA is round ground and I file all my chain as round ground and I also grind my chains round.👍
