Enjoyed watching part 2 and 3 of your wakazashi build. Turned out awesome. Am a bladesmith for hobby guy. First became aware of you on Forged in Fire episodes. Glad to actually watch you forge projects in your on shop. Might add that the Forged in Fire show is what inspired myself and friend to build our own forge. Once we saw how simple it was to get started we put put together some tools and started forging. Our first forge was the bottom of a BBQ grill. We added an air supply to it and charcoal was our fuel source, have up graded to propane forge and a 2x72 grinder. No power hammer or press. All done by hammer and anvil. Our first projects were forging tongs. Then forging tomahawk out of railroad sp8kes. Once I conquered that I moved on to blades. The Commanding officer of Seal Team Seven has one of my Tomahawks on his desk. From what I understand he was jazzed to win it at archery tournament raffle. Very thrilled to find out who won it. Anyway will continue to watch your videos and pick up more tips. Forge on!

I finally did it! I went out and got some of what I consider essential tools for knife making and I’m halfway through with my first knife!!! Something about the way you feel about bladesmithing really resonates with me Jason. I’ve really gotta attend one of your classes.

@Jason Knight Nice that there are still people who want to get their hands dirty, which love to have fun and do great things. How boring our world would be without these creative people! I love to make rustic knives, a lot of copper & silver & etchings, pure manual work, you should see that the knives are done by manual work because I hate these machine-made knives, which are driven to perfection, and you can hardly determine whether they are cheap mass-produced goods from China or are created by a small shop with a CNC machine. For me, the soul of a blade must match the character of the owner with all their rough edges. As we say in Germany: "a man without a knife is a cripple without a soul". Many thanks to the "Kinght" family - please keep it up.

Greetings from Colorado. I find your videos to be very inspiring. I put them on while I'm working in the garage. I dont make blades yet but I want to build up to that. Right now, I primarily make layard beads, lanyards, wraps, and do some customizing on production folders. But I just want to say thank you for making and sharing. It helps keep me inspired and drives me to keep building and honing my skillsets, so again, THANK YOU.

Amazing. I really appreciate the fact that you show the successes as well as the mistakes along the way. I tend to learn a ton from my mistakes (and there are a lot of them). I am a teacher stuck at home during this crazy time.... I started making knives about 2 years ago. The time at home has allowed me more opportunities in the shop. Hoping to finish my first dagger this week. Got a chance to get my daughter's beau in the shop to make 2 knives, I think he's hooked.
