I saw the KZbin video on this channel where Mr. Knight made a Wakizashi out of unknown metal that was originally a spring clip. It gave me an idea, although I don't know if this is something he would have any interest in doing. In fact, it would probably be a real pain in the ass to do. But I'd like to see a video of him making a knife from metal taken from magnet fishing. It doesn't have to be only the metal taken at one time, nor would he have to be the one to do the magnet fishing himself, but the knives would only be made from the metal recovered that way and no other added steel. Only the handle and sheath (if he wanted to make a sheath) material would be exempt from that requirement. Yes, there is an excellent chance most if not all of the recovered hardenable steel will be in really crappy condition and probably not the first choice of material for anyone wanting to forge a functional knife from. But it would still be interesting to see it done. The metal could be collected over a period of months and he could pick and choose out of the lot what he wanted to use.
